Arsehole behind me called him a shampooebag at every opportunity. Including when the killie player left a leg hanging and took him out game. Throbber of a man he was.

Offered more than Mackay-Stevens has recently.
Think I may have been in the same row as you. Guy kept shouting "look interestit Forrest" every time he had the ball at his feet

Ps. That bit of skill when he chested it on the byline to keep it in then ran onto it in the first half was magic

Had a very good 60 minutes. Looked direct and interested.

If (and there's always this caveat) he could do that regularly, then wouldn't get nearly as much grief as he does.

Good post. I can't speak for anyone else but the main frustrating thing for me with James is he is capable of games like last night but we haven't seen it as much as we probably should.

Yes he has been stop and start with injuries but when he isn't injured he doesn't do it anywhere near as much as he is capable of. If he can put a run of these kind of performances together we will have one cracking player. Trouble is it is difficult to see him putting a run of form together.

Far more direct tonight. Its those types of tackles that unfortunately James will have to be on the receiving end of as he is just too quick over 5 - 10 yards for the typical Scottish slugger. A nice change in style from him...long may it continue.

I always say I don't understand the negativity toward him, apart from being injury-prone, I think his decision-making is poor at times, he can beat people at will and his crossing is decent, but just needs to choose the right option a bit more often.

You have just named three things people are negative about.

It seemed like last night was the first time we'd seen him running full pelt for god knows how long.

Ronny said that we were trying to sort his mentality as he has been scared to go at 100% in case of another injury and it finally looks like he might be over that.

No doubt he'll start on Saturday and do 90 minutes of running down the line and not delivering a cross.

Would be a huge asset if we can get him playing like last night on a consistent basis though. I'd sort of forgotten what he looks like when he plays well..

Outstanding last night. Hopefully he keeps it up, as his competition for a place in the team are all going through bad spells.

Excellent last night, direct and skillful. With him on that type of form, it only reinforces the need for a quality penalty box striker.

Fair point, but on the whole I think there is far more to be positive about than negative.

No doubt.

He should be rested on Saturday and starting on Wednesday.

I'd like to see him play against Caley to keep his confidence going.

A rest? - he's been resting for the best part of his career so far :)

The manager has said he doesn't want to play him two games a week right now. Which of our upcoming fixtures is the more important?

Not a fan.

However - wrap him in cotton wool this weekend. After last night he could be the one to put Malmo to the sword.

RD said in post match conference he took him off so he could play him Saturday.

Even if he wasn't going to start against Malmo, I'd still rest him for Caley (or at least limit his game time).

We need him to be fit and not feeling any twinges and we need to be careful that he doesn't break down again. Ronny appears to be handling him well at the moment.

Has to be rested on Saturday. If RD plays him it is ridiculously stupid. I would rather be possibly dropping points early doors than risking not qualifying for the CL.

Quick and direct, tore them to pieces when he ran at them. As good a perform as I've seen of him recently.

Having said that, his decision making is poor at times. In the first half we had 3 on 2 and failed to capitalize.
