Personally i'm not his biggest fan. But simply put; there's people in our support who are out to get him. His decision to square it in the 2nd half was the right one. The same people would have murdered him had he shot and missed.
I'm one of his biggest critics, I'm not out to get him or any other player for that matter. I simply dont think he's good enough. He's been given chance after chance and failed to deliver or really show any real signs of progression.

I personally think he should've pulled the trigger last night when he had the chance I also thought he done quite well when he came on but it doesn't change my perception that he's not good enough. I've seen more than enough of him
to form that opinion. Given his lack of progression and injury record over the past 5 years I dont believe he deserves a new deal and should be released in summer.

No doubt due to Uefa rules regarding Europe etc he'll be offered an extension but I personally dont think he deserves it.
Confidence looks a bit shot but wouldn't right him off I know he is highly rated by Celtic and the players and who are we to judge ...A run of games and form and we could still have a player!!

Go on wee Jamsie

A confidence player. On his day, just gets the head down and goes past players like they are not there. Decent impact when he came on against Qarabag, fresh legs. I think he just needs a healthy dose of self-belief, if he had the confidence that Virgil ( or Guidetti even) has then he would be unstoppable.

Has a poor football brain, he doesn't seem to learn anything or improve on his failings.

A good run yes but ultimately zero at the end as he made a poor decision, being excited about a run would be great if we were playing for yardage but sadly we don't.

His decision making is dire at times, he has ability, of that there is no doubt, but he needs to sort this out to improve. This is a big season for him, another pish season and the calls for him to be offload will only grow

He's been poor for a while now but he's a real asset to our team if we can get him back playing and confident again.

Good player when he gets a run of games - but far too injury prone. But there again, I said the same about Craig Gordon last year......

I think he needs a real run in order for him to be fairly judged. His injury problems have been a nightmare.

That said, I can't believe he didn't take the shot himself last night.

I aint a fan, but his confidence is shot. Even the greatest player would suffer under this.

His running style has also. He doesnt look comfortable.

Pathetic :ffs:
There's absolutely eff all pathetic about it. The guy is spot on in what he says about their being tons of space late on in the game. Any player with fresh legs coming into that was going to benefit, especially if they're playing wide and can isolate their full back.
It is pathetic. You just want to rubbish that anything that Forrest does.
The fact is that GMS gave great effort when we did not have the ball but he did eff all
when he had possession. Did he even complete a pass.

This is turning out to be one of those threads that everything that can be said has been said.

The wee man hasn't got any better, his injuries are a big negative for him and I'd go as far as to say he was more dangerous when he broke through into the team. That exciting player has faded and we are left with someone who looks like he will be a bit part player from now on. It's up to him and Celtic if that's what either party want. I do think Celtic and majority if not all fans would love to see him beating men regularly at pace, scoring and setting up chances and becoming that winger we were hoping he'd turn out to be. I think it's a little late for that now, I may be wrong but I can't see him getting any better.

I think it's got to the point where most fans don't get too excited even when he does put in a good performance or show a bit of magic because we know that soon he'll be injured again

Are you seriously suggesting that Forrest was NOT brought on at a time when Qarabag were stretched, pushing forward, leaving space behind and knackered? I'm not saying if the roles had been reversed and it had been GMS coming on at that time that he would have performed better, but to compare their performances at completely different stages of a difficult match is just weak. GMS had 4 guys round him for the whole match and he struggled. Forrest was a great sub and came on late in the game with more space to run into. They're not comparable.

You're pathetic.

Your failure to realise the mitigating circumstances in their performances the other night is laughable. You also have a go at a guy for daring to question Forrest's contribution yet totally slaughter GMS in the same post.

There seems to be a lot of sensitive souls on this board.

I think that's in his head as well which is maybe the biggest problem.

If James Forrest played for the hun, no one on here would think he has any ability or is good enough.

Regardless of form/injury - he never has been good enough for us.
