I think you need a bit of perspective. Forrest came on when there was miles of space in their half when we won the ball back and the fact most of the players would have been knackered.

If GMS came on that late I'm sure he would have had more time and space on the ball. He was poor tonight but he still gave his all.
Pathetic :ffs:
There's absolutely eff all pathetic about it. The guy is spot on in what he says about their being tons of space late on in the game. Any player with fresh legs coming into that was going to benefit, especially if they're playing wide and can isolate their full back.

Still showing glimpses. If he could put it all together, we'd have ourselves a player.

Transplant Broony or Stefan's mindset into this dude.

This is the standard response every single season. When do we say enough is enough. He either puts together a run or we cut him loose?

We'd have to be cutting loose a few more players than just Forrest if we're having a go at them for not 'putting it all together'. It's the level we're at. Players who do that are sold. Wanyama, Forster and next up is VVD.

Jamesy is the most consistently inconsistent player we have though. Most others tend to offer more than him even when they aren't firing on all cylinders.

Is that really true though? I don't think it is. How can you be inconsistent if you're on the treatment table?

Arguably, GMS and Armstrong are just as inconsistent. Armstrong is the only one to have put in a performance of note this season and that was one game against Ross County where he was nothing more than decent. Johansen, despite his good season last year, has been utterly muck so far this season.

Some folk really have it in for Forrest. I'm not claiming he's brilliant, but if we can keep him fit, he'll be our best wide player.

Personally i'm not his biggest fan. But simply put; there's people in our support who are out to get him. His decision to square it in the 2nd half was the right one. The same people would have murdered him had he shot and missed.

It's based on him doing last night what no one else in our current squad appears capable of. Running past players at pace and creating an opening. If you want him dispensed with in favour of... I don't know who, then good on you.

By his own, and the manager's admission, this is the first time he has been consistently injury free for the best part of three years.

I'll not be offering any more excuses for James than for anyone else. I just see that a player is effectively being rebuilt from a fitness perspective, and now seems to be having aspects of his game addressed too under a different coaching model.

If you are happy to bin all that, then good for you.

If Forrest had shot i don't think anyone would have said he should have square it. There wasn't really a pass on and he had a clear shot at goal. Terrible decision from a player who looks to be totally lacking in confidence.

Had he scored that it would have been a huge lift for him. He shat it. Plain and simple.

If he scored it you would have struggled to see a better goal anywhere all season.

The white Regi Blinker.

Always wish that our youth players succeed but he just doesn't seem to kick on from.where he was a few seasons back. Twist.

To be fair, he has probably only amassed a season and a half due to injuries in those 5 years.

Nah, he got a fortunate ricochet off the defender into this path.

Not slagging forrest just mentioning that in regards the point of struggling to see a better goal anywhere this season.

If he can stay injury free he could become a good player.

I think I've said that at the start of the last 4 seasons.

I'm one of his biggest critics, I'm not out to get him or any other player for that matter. I simply dont think he's good enough. He's been given chance after chance and failed to deliver or really show any real signs of progression.

I personally think he should've pulled the trigger last night when he had the chance I also thought he done quite well when he came on but it doesn't change my perception that he's not good enough. I've seen more than enough of him
to form that opinion. Given his lack of progression and injury record over the past 5 years I dont believe he deserves a new deal and should be released in summer.

No doubt due to Uefa rules regarding Europe etc he'll be offered an extension but I personally dont think he deserves it.
