Just as we had to give the entire squad a bit of time working with RD, the same applies to Forrest. Wait until next season.
He's been in the first team for about 5 years. Should be producing by now.

"Tottenham eye Celtic star James Forrest as Gareth Bale replacement" was a classic headline in the Metro a few years ago: http://metro.co.uk/2013/03/07/tottenham-eye-celtic-star-james-forrest-as-gareth-bale-replacement-3532009/

You would have thought he had just played a full 90mins before coming on. Half hearted closing down of defenders.
Halfhearted is the perfect description of his game tonight.

At least run about a bit!

He'd struggle to get a game for Sevco FFS, punt him straight away

When I first seen him I thought he can be a good player in a few years but he hasn't improved as a player in the last Few years. He could take over from the scarecrow in wizard of oz as he also doesn't have a brain

Really poor tonight but don't think playing him up front by himself was a good decision. Poor man's raheem Sterling? Maybe not

I honestly don't think this boy has done anything to show that he has what it takes to be a footballer at any real level.

He can't cross, pass, tackle, defend or shoot and his petulant attitude is annoying now.

Anyone who still thinks he 'needs time' etc, IMO, is blinkered.

He is utterly garbage

An utter shampooebag and totally uninterested at times.

Given that he wasn't that great in the first place there's no reason to keep him.

Looks to me like he needs games badly to get his sharpness back but isn't doing enough to merit a start.

Had to chase down high hopeful punts and shanked clearances. He would have been in if Johansen wasn't elbowed right in the face.

I am far from his biggest fan but I don't think he was overly poor when he came on. Just didn't do anything of note, good or bad.
The last sentence says it all.

In that regard he is very consistent.

He has no ambition on the park.

None.

He is content with mediocrity, and it has been obvious to me for years.

Other than that, he's smashing.

At least the ball was out of play when he did it tonight.

That really winds me up. Nearly 5 years on from his debut you would think it might have sunk in that it is utterly pointless. Naw, he persists.

MI, watch him when he comes on as a sub.

He jogs on as if he's at Glasgow Green.

And that's the way he plays. He refuses to ask himself any questions as a player.

His role in the first squad is under threat.

You would have no idea of that from the way he plays.

He has not progressed as a player, and his injuries, in my opinion, are a red herring.

His problem(s) are far greater than anything physical.

Thought we had a cracker when I seen him on the old Celtic TV and when he broke into the first team.

Shame that he's hasn't kicked a baw over the last few years, can't do it domestic never mind Europe.

Harry Redknapp was supposedly interested when he was at Spurs...ah well.

His lack of chasing down Juan Jesus in the build up to Inter's goal was criminal.
Absolutely. Can't be blamed for the strike, which was a cracker, but it began in their box and the defender just ran away from him. He rarely plays. When he does he shows rare flashes of his ability and he never, ever works back for the team. Absolute charlatan who is offering very little. Having said that, after gracing us with his presence for 30mins today, we prob won't have to moan about him until his next appearance.

Which is likely to be about September.
