Forrest wasn't particularly good or anything but I don't quite get the venom he receives from some quarters.

Forrest as a winger continually tries to use his 'pace' to get past opponents rather than trickery, skill whatever you want to call it. Hasnt developed in 6 seasons punt

I didn't see the game last night but here's my general assumption of Forrest;

He's a player who no doubt has ability. He's direct, has pace and an eye for goal. For a winger he doesn't have much skill and he is often guilty of running into the opposing full back, which for a fan is incredibly frustrating. He is also very injury prone and often looks devoid of confidence, a mixture of both these factors have somewhat stalled his career and to put it bluntly, he hasn't really improved on the player that initially broke through into the first team.

He has his moments no doubt but it's generally more bad than good with him. He's been a first team player for 5 seasons now and is not young, in terms of footballing age anymore. I think it may be best for all parties if he moves on, there's a chance he can re-invent himself elsewhere but preferably not here, he's had more than enough chances.

It has been mentioned by a few other posters. It is a squad game and has been for sometime now so
why would you get rid of Forrest who is a far better player than some of the ott KDS mob give him credit for.

This thread is almost identical to the one from two years ago. Yet people still think he's going to turn a corner and become a good player....

I think my original post really answers your question. He's not showed any sort of progression in a number of years and is at the same level now at 24, than he was at 19. At what point do we have to stop and think "he's not a kid anymore, we've done enough for this guy and we aren't getting enough back". I think it's a kick in the balls for our current youth, that they aren't getting a chance ahead of this guy who isn't performing consistently.

I'm not "a hater" in my OP you can see I noted that he does have abilities, I don't think he's shampoo I just think he's inconsistent. Why would we keep a player who flatters to deceive more often than does good? I would much rather get someone in who we can place trust in, whether that maybe from the youth system or not. I just don't see anything positive for him re his future at the club.

He seems less two footed than he was when he was 19.

He's not really improved much at all. Bar one good season, which was still full of injuries, in 2011/12, he has never had any kind of sustained period of form.

On form he's brilliant but those games are few and far between.
