Even know he was playing out of position tonight he played there at youth level but he was hopeless offered nothing. It was more like playing with 9 men when he came on.

Hard to see how he can progress his career because as the years go by he is actually getting worse.

Doesn't have the level of fitness the rest of the team has, probably due to a lack of consistent training to get him up to the same speed as his team-mates

He is barely a shadow of the player we thought he might become when he first broke through to the first team. Chronic injury problems have affected everything about his game. He's either lazy or doesn't have the fitness level needed to hold down a place and it must be very doubtful if he'll ever get back near where he was.

Should never have been near the pitch tonight.

I know I probably have a cheek after my criticism of Matthews but Forrest needs to be given the chance to get fully fit and match for before he can be judged on the park. Right now the number of injuries is disappointing but Deila has already said he is working with him to solve the problem and get him more game time. This needs to be given a chance to happen. I understand the need for an avenue to vent after a disappointing result. I suppose that shows how well we played tonight, that this is the only avenue open to the moaners.
He needs to learn to play to theeffing whistle never seen a player so powder puff and looking at the ref while the oposistion player runs way with the ball.

Forrest made no contribution. That's not a moan, it is an observation.

Seemed a few were quick to defend him when I pointed out the same stuff many others have in this thread.
I'm sure I said tunnel vision/no end product/poor decision maker/no goal threat/only has pace and he has regressed as a player.

It was noted he played out of position against Hamilton but for ffs Ambrose had created more than Forrest and it seemed no coincidence that when Forrest left the pitch we scored 3 rapid.

People can and will defend players for a variety of reasons but personally, I think he's guff.
Hits the floor/raises his arms/stops dead looking for free kicks at the slightest infringement.
Fails to track back and offers very little.

He's gone backwards.
Every season we have said 'this is a big season for Forrest' and he's failed to produce.
If he was Danish or Dutch we would have him punted on loan or punted for buttons.

Feel free to contradict me by adding that he's unfit or played of position. He won't be the first of last to have to deal with those issues but it seems beyond him to adapt.

Cgaf if I never saw him in the hoops again.

Would have loved him to become a top player but those heady days of a £8m Spurs bid (or interest) look like an opportunity list for both him and the club.

He looked powder puff tonight against a pretty bad defense. Think he'll be one of the players that leaves us and has a hit and miss career.

Can't read a game, offers nothing to the team. Gives up when he loses the ball
The Kenny Miller analogy springs to mind

I think tonight was always going to be hard for him considering we were down to ten men but overall he hasn't progressed and is injured fairly often.

I think it's time to move on.

Seems we have a predilection for having our huffiest most moany faced players up front in that last decade or so - McDonald.Stokes and Forrest with the common denominator being that they use this ploy ineffectively it must be said to try and cover up for their own mistakes and deficiencies - They are fooling nobody.

Regardless of circumstances, the fact is James Forrest is just a bang average player, capable of the odd spark but mainly ineffective.

Shame as he showed so much potential 3-4 years ago.

Still better than Boerrigter, Tonev, Wakaso and McGregor tho

I said on here about a year/year and a half ago that I just never seen what others did in this guy. I have always thought he was an empty jersey. An utterly gutless player that should be nowhere near Celtic

"Tottenham eye Celtic star James Forrest as Gareth Bale replacement" was a classic headline in the Metro a few years ago: http://metro.co.uk/2013/03/07/tottenham-eye-celtic-star-james-forrest-as-gareth-bale-replacement-3532009/

You would have thought he had just played a full 90mins before coming on. Half hearted closing down of defenders.

Just as we had to give the entire squad a bit of time working with RD, the same applies to Forrest. Wait until next season.
