Did well when he came on, and should probably start on Wednesday, as they will be tired. Awful penalty aside, his contribution helped see us win the cup.

Decent contribution but I hope he gets his arse kicked for the penalty miss after he told them all he was taking it. Usual Forrest game - ability is there, attitude is lacking.

Petulant school boy behavior over the penalty. He acts like he believes he is something special , which he was was briefly , before his arrogance snuffed out whatever brilliance he had flickered.
I don't agree, I'm not a fan of Forrest, but he won a penalty and unless someone has told him otherwise beforehand, has every right to demand to take it. He needs his baws booted if he's taken it off the guy who had been told he was designated penalty taker and, if Commons was on, I reckon he would have taken it ahead of him, but Guidetti? Fire in.

He was right to take if the spot if things hadn't been worked out before the match
KC would be our first choice I would imagine but he was off and JG only wanted it for his show reel
Needs abuse because it was so poor but he won it

He took a poor penalty which isn't the thing to do after the debate. Not a hanging offence though and apart from that he showed how effective he can be.

GMS would have scored a hatrick and given Guideti the ball for the penalt.

Did well when he came on. A lot of people on here criticised his attitude in the Inter game. He showed good composure to take his chance then showed a lot of fight to demand to take the penalty. Incidentally, I think he should have let Guidetti take it. Forrest had his goal, it would have been nice to let someone else get on the score sheet.

Although he was in the right place with a good finish for the second goal, and won the penalty, his attitude and application are still lacking. Good contribution today but we can still do much better.

Not today it wasn't. Dixon will still be out there somewhere trying to sort himself out.

He doesn't try a leg when we're defending. He doesn't mark, he doesn't track back, he doesn't tackle. Ronny seems to favour the players he knows he'll get 100% from, Forrest isn't one of them.

Another game under his belt, kept it simple, nice finish and while a poor penalty, he made a difference.
Bawman, I admire your charity.

If only the arrogance displayed by him today in absolutely insisting on taking the penalty, was mirrored in his general play over a long, long period of time. He would be a world class player.

His mis-placed arrogance is, in my opinion, breathtaking.

On what basis did he earn the right to take that penalty and insist, over several objections, from a variety of players, to do so.

With that insistence comes responsibility. He failed big time. The DU keeper did not move his feet other that to make the save.

In a cup final.

I have no idea how a player who cannot earn a regular place, quite rightly, in any team can come on the pitch and insist on taking that penalty in a cup final.

Discraceful.

I wouldn't just say he was in the right place, I would say he came in from the wing and got himself in the right place for his goal. Why do you think his attitude and application were lacking? I thought he worked hard when he came on and offered more than Kris Commons did.

Also, Wakaso, Tonev and Boeriggter have shown that it isn't easy finding an effective winger. Forrest is a product of our youth system and has been a good player for us. Due to terrible luck with injuries, he hasn't been fully match sharp for a long time. The manager clearly likes him and he is still young enough to improve much more.

He needs to learn how to have a first touch that doesn't go 6 foot in the air.

But he was good today. Keep it up Jamesy! I think being able to run at United last week did his confidence a lot of good.

As I've said before in this thread the most frustrating player we have. Created the second goal and won the penalty by doing something I wish he'd do just a bit more often and that is running at the defence and committing defenders.

Would like to see us get Forrest fit and restart his development, which I think he needs. But I really don't know if he's got the mentality for it. Don't think he understands that all Ronny wants to see is 100% every day.

His little spat today and Guidettis wee huff show that neither of them are buying into the culture Ronny talks about. Team spirit, work rate and a willing to improve constantly.

Sure Lennon would have him at Bolton in a minute.

I have highlighted my reasons over his application in an above post.

Aye, he's decent going forward when he can be bothered, but he is not the kind of player this team favours now. He is talented, but he seems to think that gets him by and we need more than that, and Ronny demands more than that. I don't think he plays for the team, I think he plays for himself - further supported by his penalty today - and I hope he's nowhere near us next year.
