none of our forwards are totally consistent. That's why they play for us. If any of them ever manage a full season playing at the very top of their games, they'll destroy Scottish football single handed. All our front players are capable of occasional greatness, and equally, they are capable of a poor run of form.

The difference in Forrest is quite visible when he is on the ball. Previously he had a demeanour that felt like he knew what he wanted to do but didn't look confident enough to carry it out. You always had that slight suspicion he would be easily brushed off the ball and he'd go down doing that despairing arms outstretched thing appealing for a free kick that wasn't coming.

Now it's as if he's more sure in his touch and possession of the ball, and crucially being that comfortable sets him up much better to get at players much more quickly and easily. Like his first touches set him up to give him an advantage that wasn't there previously.

I also think psychologically he's also got it in opposition players minds that he can fly past them, that there'll normally be assistance from Lustig, and that he is also much more confident of doing something on the inside if that's how they opt to deal with him.

All round he is just using the ball better when he's on it, and his workrate off the ball going back the way has been improved for a while now.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
So, in your first post...

for one good game he goes MIA for 3 or 4

Then in your second...

Last 7 games Ive seen on TV or in flesh he has played well 3/4 times

And he's not consistent?

The poster up the page was correct, people are still regurgitating the same crap they have been for years in order to try to back up their original opinion of Forrest. It's laughable.

For the sake of clarity he had a great game yesterday & is playing well this season - best form he has been in for us.

Got a break Roberts getting injured and took it to his credit.

IMO he still lacks consistency at times on his decision making.

He was playing well before we re-signed Roberts and was unlucky to be dropped for Roberts. He played well last season and was unfortunate that when he had a dip in form Roberts stepped up to the plate and had a fantastic run to keep Forrest out of the team. I would say he's played pretty well over the past 18 months offering up a consistency that had been sadly lacking before Rodgers came to the club. A cracking talent once he gets motoring is almost in the Didier Agathe level of scaring defences ;) (not as fast though).

For those saying he should be starting on the left instead of Sinclair, I think Forrest is more effective on the right-hand side running at defenders getting to the position to a cross in or cut back the ball. I would rather he starts on the right and Paddy starts on the left.

Put Roberts out left and keep Forrest right. Sinclair has been off the boil for a wee while now.

He's a total confidence player and currently his feathers are up and we're reaping the benefits of that. He's shown a number of times this year how important he can be to the team and BR is managing to make this a more and more frequent occurrence thankfully. Beyond that he must be one of the most decorated players in our first team? Second only to Brown and Lustig maybe?

Two great finishes, must be the best finisher with the outside of his foot we've had for a long time.

Having a terrific season. Think he’ll finish it with his highest goals return as well.

Was it John Collins who told him to stop shooting with the outside of his boot?

Excellent finishing again, into double figures already according to Celtic TV. His best goal scoring season already.
