Would have been interesting to see a Forrest that had been coached by Rodgers since youth.

I reckon he may have fulfilled his early promise.

Hope Rodgers can coach him to reach a level of consistency in his performances.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
My brother couldn't make the game but watched on the TV, sent me a txt at full time "Hate to say it but Forrest was brilliant" :brickwall:

My brother is a dick though.
can't understand fans who would rather players they dont rate played badly just so they can be proved right

tadgers
my local is full of carrots like that   you can come back from a game and they have had 10 pints and tell you (insert any players name you like) was pish , he never kick a baw all night, what makes it even worse is that if the commentary is turned down ,half of the carrots would not have an opinion on the game ,because the commentary is also their only talking points

He's probably been more consistently good under Rodgers than at any other time in his career. Injuries have been fewer too.

I've never been a fan of Forrest for a number of reasons but like every Celtic supporter should, I've enjoyed the good games he's turned in. He's been better than Roberts this season and should have played ahead of him in some games where he's been left on the bench. He's had reason to feel aggrieved but when called upon, has performed and scored goals. Every now and then we have a player who really splits fan opinion big time and Forrest is one of them.

Last night he was simply brilliant. His admirers are out in considerable force on here and after a performance like that, so they should be. I'll be happy if they have plenty more to shout about in the coming months.

If you look back at our champions league qualifiers over the years, his performances and goals have been key.

I’ve said a lot about Forrest before Rodgers came in. Probably even said he would never perform at this level

Absolutely spectacular last night, best player on the park by some distance. Integral member of our squad and deserves every bit of praise he is receiving.

Interesting comment you make about players splitting fans' opinions. I would say, that Kieran Tierney is the only current Celtic player who has not at some time in the recent past split fans' opinions, on kds at any rate. Some more than others of course, but KT is the only one I can think of who has escaped (so far). Until recently he was joined by Sinclair, Dembele and Roberts, but even these three have recently galvanised opinions. Says something about our fickleness maybe, or perhaps just human nature.

It was painful listening to the abuse he'd take during the Deila era from the stands. He must be very resillient

After impressing when he came on in Munich I think Brendan would have started him in front of a Roberts even if Roberts was fit.Taking into account the opponents I think it was Forrest best ever performance.

I mean I don't want to tempt fate but the other change in Forrest I've seen since Brendan took over is the lack of injuries.

I always thought Charlie Mulgrew was the best socks fixer we ever had.

Here's the sketch - imho.
Forrest can be one of the proper CL level players we have - I've said it plenty of times over the years.
I personally think he seems to shine more in European games because he is afforded more space, which lets him really stretch his legs and pick up momentum, driving at players.
Problem is that domestically, he doesn't get the same space, and thus doesn't appear to be as good.
In the same way, I think Roberts may well be the kind of player that will really shine in domestic football in Scotland, but won't make the same kind of impact in Europe - really just because of the tools he has - he isn't blessed with blistering pace, which is needed at the absolute top level - but he can beat players one on one - so is very useful when we dominate possession, but are up against tight well organised defences here.
That said though, if we get into the Europa league, Paddy may well be the sort of player which may enable us to go quite far as the standard shouldn't be quite as high as in the CL...

Actually can't remember the last time he had a lengthy lay off. Physically it looks like a lot of work on the thighs has been done in the gym.

He picked up a hamstring injury last year away to City and was out a couple of weeks. Can't think of anything else apart from that tbh

If he keeps up the form he's shown under Rodgers, he will be fulfilling his early promise.

He's been outstanding since Brendan arrived.

He was tremendous the other night and been good so far this season.

I hope it doesn’t go the way it always does with James.
