Bendtner says it was a fluke. 1in a hundred shot. My brother said it was a hit and hope.

Bendtner says it was a fluke. 1in a hundred shot. Bendtner is a big duffer. A decent CF would have buried that first half header he had when isolated with Tierney at the back post.
He has all the pedigree, takes up the positions you would want him to but ultimately as incisive as a one tooth wonder at a Somerset gurning competition.

I must have been hungover this morning when I posted because I came straight off here and put £20 on him to score anytime. £88 to be lifted on Wednesday then
It's a certainty. Remy's sharpening his knife already
Right on both counts Enjoy the winnings Just a gut feeling I had. Thought he was coming off when griff was getting changed. Bruv doesn't believe I backed him because I'm always on his case. Thanks anyway jamesy

Rodgers heaped huge praise on James Forrest for his wonder winner which took Celts into the play-off draw.
Rodgers said: “Forrest was outstanding, both in a central role where he moves freely and knows how to play it, and when he goes wide he takes us up the pitch. His goal was sensational really.
“There’s huge expectation on James. I’ve watched him since he was a young player breaking in. There’s no doubting his talent.
“I think he now feels he’s playing in a team with one brain.
“It’s not just about him. Forrest has a role to play and he plays it very well. You can see he’s maturing.
“He’s such a great lad. He rarely misses training. The key for James was pushing him in training, making sure the engine didn’t switch off.
“You want to improve as a player so the demand has improved him. You can never have a lazy day and he knows that.
“Forrest has been absolutely brilliant for me, and at 26 you can see he’s enjoying his football.”

JAMES FORREST used to be part of a Celtic team that would travel abroad in hope rather than expectation. Now the hero of Trondheim believes Brendan Rodgers has got them flying out from Glasgow with the mentality that they WILL get a result. Pre-Rodgers the Hoops travelled throughout the continent like lambs to the slaughter. Now, however, there’s growing belief within the squad about their chances away from Parkhead — with last season’s impressive group stage draws against Borussia Monchengladbach and Manchester City early evidence of that attitude. Wednesday’s solid, professional 1-0 victory over Rosenborg — courtesy of Forrest — has cemented the feeling Rodgers has changed the mindset of the players. The pressure of progressing from the third qualifying round was intense but Celtic kept their nerve, defended well, played a decent possession game and eventually took one of a number of chances with Forrest blasting home in the second half. Now the versatile attacker reckons none of their potential opponents in Friday’s draw — Qarabag, Hapoel Be’er Sheva, Astana, Rijeka or Slavia Prague — will be happy if they are paired with Scotland’s Invincibles. On his goal and the overall team display, Forrest said: “It actually worked out better than if I had taken a good touch. Sometimes that happens — and then the strike, I couldn’t have hit it any better. “It happened that quickly. It was definitely up there with anything else in my career. It was a great feeling. “I knew the importance of the goal as soon as it hit the net. It was a massive goal and to get us into the next round is really good. I am just delighted for all the boys. “It was ten minutes after I moved back wide that I got my goal. I had a chance up front in the first half but the keeper made a good save though it was a good height for him. “I am happy to play anywhere for the team but it was better when Leigh Griffiths came on. “I am sure he will be going back up there. I thought back to front we did really well, but you never know what could have happened if they had scored. “They could have put us under a bit of pressure — but I still think we looked comfortable. “The gaffer said after the game that he had watched Celtic away from home in Europe and we had a tendency to sit back. “So he was delighted that we all wanted the ball and we looked the stronger team and took the game to them, away from home. “That was great to see because Rosenborg are halfway through their season. So that is credit to the boys and the manager for us finishing like that. Even last year we showed with Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach away from home we put on some good performances. “We played well apart from the game at Barcelona. The way the manager wants us to play it’s high up and that suits for playing away in Europe. There are five teams we can get in the draw. “Astana, Qarabag and Hapoel Be’er Sheva are amongst them. They are teams we have played before and most of them we have got positive results against. “We will do our homework against our next opponents and we just need to give it one final push to get into the group stages. “We are just delighted to be in the draw and looking to get back into the Champions League again.” Now it’s Hearts at Parkhead on Saturday as Celtic unfurl their latest championship flag. And Forrest added: “We are looking forward to Saturday. The atmosphere will be great. We just want to build from last season, although it will be hard. “We have the mentality that we just have to take one game at a time and we just need to try and focus on winning the next one.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/forrest-brendan-mentality/
