The thought of him as a striker in a huge game like this gives me the fear no end. Disappears when the going gets tough way too many times for my liking.

Hope to hell LG makes it.
Some of the stuff Rodgers has come out with this week has been concerning, but if he genuinely sees Forrest as being able to play as a striker I'd be gobsmacked.

Maybe if we were expecting the be under pressure for long stages and just needed pace and direct movement up front, someone to chase long balls. Maybe. But a strikers most important attribute, along with finishing, is intelligent movement and Forrest is severely lacking in that. Usually stands still till he gets the ball.

I thought it was misdirection when all the talk was of Rogic starting up front and look how that turned out :o

Poor Jamesy. If we don't go through it'll be his fault, not the manager's or the club's for their mismanagement of this transfer window

If Griffiths doesn't make it. We need to have lots of Movement to try and pull them about and make space for McGregor/ Armstrong/Rogic/Sinclair/ Hayes running through.

It makes more sense for Forrest than Rogic to do this role.

Yeah I'd agree with that. I'd also add that despite what lots say, Forrest is one of the best finishers at the club, especially in a one on one situation.

He's usually composed, I'd agree. Of the fit players available he's probably only behind Armstrong for composure in front of goal.

I don't rate Forrest but I can see what Rodgers is going for by playing him through the middle. Plus Forrest got no change from the left back.

forrest just doesn't do it for me wide right but I do think he could play that role Brendan wants him to play. Years back I wanted Celtic to try it and they did against someone in Europe I don't recall who. But it was a miserable performance from him again. I just think he's useless out wide

Has Forrest ever scored a headed goal? I mean, if he leads our line on Wednesday and Lustig or Tierney put in a cross, will James know what to do?

If he's leading the line, I'd guess his main job will be to pull their defenders out of position and create spaces for our midfielders to attack.

Once, last season, against Kilmarnock.

With Forrests low sense of gravity, he receives the ball well into feet and spins away well. Might give some of their big lumps at the back some problems, if, we're not sloppy in possession.

The last player you'd want one on one with their keeper in the 91st minute

Or any other minute

If Forrest does indeed start up front, or at least the role Rogic attempted to play in the first leg, then It'll be interesting to see who he picks on the right side. Hayes would be the obvious choice.

Main thing with Forrest, if he doesn't beat the defender first time. He's chucked it in his head.

You can tell within 2 minutes whether he's going to be sugar or shampooe.
The most ridiculous post I have read.
We are hardly 5 minutes into the season and in fact not one ball kicked in the domestic season and the most negative our alleged fans
are giving him laldy.
Could be coz he's been relatively pish for about 5 years? :ponder:

I must have been hungover this morning when I posted because I came straight off here and put £20 on him to score anytime. £88 to be lifted on Wednesday then

I wonder how folk would've reacted last season if you said we'd be going into a vital away CL qualifier with Forrest up front and Hayes on the right wing.

Last season ? They would have pointed out that it was madness as Hayes was registered as an Aberdeen player and if we played him on the right wing, or anywhere in fact, we would forfeit the game 0-3.

It's an absolute nonsense where we are.
But it's just such a Celtic thing to do. I'd like to think if we get past this tie then we can use this experience and strengthen the squad before the next round.

Then I realised that isn't the Celtic way.
