In the early days of the Lennon era he, obviously, had youth on his side. He has flattered to deceive ever since but can no longer rely on 'potential'. Punt and replace with, *sigh*, Hayes.

Was pretty awesome in spells last season but it appears normal service has resumed.

Not a fan of Forrest generally, but don't quite get the major criticism of him, as in singling him out amidst a number of other poor performers.

Seemed to have our two chances of note, but frustratingly he did what he does often; doesn't have the touch or composure to set himself properly or hit the target once he has fashioned a chance.

Going back to Forrest after Paddy was always going to be a real blow in the long run, as I don't believe he's really got it to contribute at a high level when we need it.

Problem with Forrest is that when he is bad he puts the team under so much pressure by not being able to retain the ball.

Sorry, this boy had it all when I seen him on Celtic Tv back in the day, with the reserves at that time, I really thought we had a cracker.

Total feckin mince, I would even take wee Maloney back now, more skill than he's ever got...or had.
Maloney was always a better player than Forrest.

Crap game but it happens with wingers, I think he's looked pretty good in pre season up till now. Not against decent opposition of course but I think people are going way OTT here.

I disagree that he worked hard. That's one of my issues. Thought Hayes' attitude put his to shame.

Had four half chances in first half that if he showed more conviction would have at least worked the keeper!

First team training

I saw enough from a Roberts last year to persuade me that Forrest was an inferior winger in almost every single department. There was also a sense that Forrest significantly upped his game in the face of competition from Roberts. And, like many others, he took a bounce from a team playing with a swagger.

All that being said, he'd never be a first pick for me. Inconsistent and too often anonymous.

If there were prizes for running at your opponent and losing the ball, tonight's performance has him a candidate for player of the year.
