Easily the best attacker today.

He looked on it from the start and I couldn't understand why he wasn't given the ball more.

Forrest is like one of these money ball players. Ugly to watch, but stats wise he contributes so much over the season. 2 goals set up today. Also ran his heart out and kept their left back (and left winger) busy.

Gets a hard time because aesthetically not as good as Roberts, but he has been very effective.

The player who I wanted on the ball the most throughout the game. Our biggest threat against their tactics today.

With teams concentrating on shutting down our left side, our right wing and right back are going to be more important in opening defences up. Roberts is a very talented player but doesn't use the width of the pitch as much as Forrest. Over the course of the season Forrest desrves to be looked upon as the number one choice in his position and deserves a bit more patience from fans.

Was looking through the MotM thread and there is a comment saying some folk will never have Forrest as number one. Is this really the case?

For me Forrest was by far the best player on the pitch for us yesterday.

'Ugly to watch'? :ponder:

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching him this season. Oh well.

When he's in form, he's one of our most exciting players to watch.

When he's in space, and confident, and running at defenders, skinning them, he's a joy to watch. Makes you get off your seat.

When he's doing pretty much everything else, he's technically ugly. His technique is wrong for pretty much everything, from running to passing to shooting. But it works for him when he's on form and full of confidence. I think that's why he's so poor when he's off form.

Forrest wasn't terrible tonight or anything, but it was hard not to wish Paddy had been out there instead.

Really hope he makes a big impact against Rosenborg, but I wouldn't be surprised if Rodgers is actively looking to sign another winger.

Pish over 2 legs. Hayes should start on Wednesday.

I'm a Forrest fan but he's done nothing over these two games to allay fears that we're significantly weaker without Roberts in that right wing role.

I genuinely think I have some sort of mental block when it comes to Forrest.

He is obviously capable of occasionally producing some fine bursts of football but on the whole I just don't see it - he's an incredibly frustrating player to watch who frequently chooses the wrong option on the park and often looks uninterested.

Was poor in both legs against a part time full back who looked to have him sussed.

Hayes should start on Wednesday.

Not much to argue with there.

In two games against a part-time team who packed the defence, he wasn't able to make a dent. I'd love to see a heat map of how often we went down the effective left, and ignored the right.

Forrest would be great as an out-ball for a counter-attacking team. But that's just not us 85% of the time.

Early days, but currently can't get by a Linfield left back. Paddy would have torn him to shreds.

Is he totally injury free at the moment?

There were a couple of moments last night where I thought he could have burst by the full back but seemed to slow up instead.
