Badly managed more like.
He was one of the most frustrating players to watch and drove us nuts...I'am glad he's having a good season but he came very close to being punted.
Again I disagree, I've pretty much always been a big fan of Forrest and have defended him time and time again, he was the go to whipping boy for the Deila era.

As for being punted, he was offered a new contract last season and stalled for a while before signing a new 3 year deal, hardly punted.

Was one of our better players at the start of last season too. Wasn't the only one who's form fell away either but he seemed to take the brunt of it the most and for a confidence player it done anything but help the situation.

TF we have a manager now who understands what it takes to get the best out of players.

Now that, I can agree with.

You've always been a fan good on you, nothing i or anyone else says will shift your opinion on JF.
As i say i'am over the moon JF as well as others who were average at best last year are playing well, can only be good for us....BUT he has been a let down overall imo.
Not many tears would have been shed if he had gone last year tbh.

In the same way that he deserves recognition and praise for his form this season, he deserved the vast majority of critism he was receiving prior. He was dreadful for a number of a seasons.
This
This nothing. He wasn't 'dreadful' for a number of seasons, that's just utter nonsense.
Yes, he was...he always had the ability but rarely showed it...2 or 3 good games a season is dreadful considering what he's showing now....I wanted him sold...now I'm happy every time he's on the pitch, so yes, I consider the last few seasons dreadful by comparison

It wasn't his fault.

Dembele, Armstrong and Sviatchenko might have something to say with that.

We have a lot of very good players this season. Forrest is certainly amongst them.

6 months ago you thought he was shampoo. always had been and was all the player he ever would be and he had 3 or 4 years of incompetence behind him
In fact you repeatedly argued against blaming the manager for his poor performance and said he had no talent at all.

There's no point mate. It was all justified criticism. When he deserved praise, McStay was happy to give it out. Just like he was with Brown.

I still am ;)

It's nonsense to blame poor management (presumably Deila?) when not only had he been regressing under Lennon too but plenty of his teammates improved under the same management team.

Much like he deserves credit for his turnaround in form it's also him that deserves criticism for his poor and inconsistent form previously.

FWIW I'm not arguing that managers don't have big impact on players' form as Rodgers impact on JF and plenty others is noticeable but that it's a total cop out to exclusively blame that.

Armstrong. Badly managed last year well managed this year and we can all see the difference.

He's also being played in a more natural position. I was one of the few who always defended Armstrong and actually thought he'd played well while others were writing him off. Apt, I guess, given the thread and current discussion

No doubt that the difference is night and day btw and BR is a huge part of that but again there's more to it than just the manager.

Deila was a dud yet Brown put in his best ever season (until now) under him. Rogic, Griffiths and KT came on leaps and bounds. Blaming him for everything is just lazy and a cop out.
