Never doubted the wee man's ability. I understood some of the frustration but like I said months ago, the criticism of Forrest was beyond belief at times. Way over the top. He is a very good player and we are lucky to have him.

Much better playing in field than on the wing for me.

He could become a superb finisher with a little work. His technique is very good and is normally very calm in front of goal.
Even when he was pish over the last couple of seasons, his finishing has always been good.

He was glittering today. It's ludicrous that he didn't start against Barca.
This is frankly a disgrace. After his helicopter shenanigans as well.

Punt.

His position yesterday reminded me of Sinclair, the way he drifted into middle with late runs. The FB doesn't want to follow into the middle of the park and the midfielders already involved in play. I wonder if he learned from Sinclair or they both learned from Rogers.

I'm new. Be gentle.
This thread could apply to a number of players if we're being honest . Brown, Armstrong , Lustig . All of these players along with Forrest have received more than their share of criticism on here over the past couple of years or so . Absolutely fine with folk having their opinion. I'm not trying the be clever here, but I always felt these players were much better than what we were seeing. The difference in the whole club is stark, so perhaps we should maybe take a step back and think before picking on individuals . For whatever reason/reasons we are now in a good place, and it looks very possible it could get even better .

The best I've seen him play, he was immense and as others have said, his runs into midfield ripped Aberdeen open, they didn't have a clue what to do.

Agreed. His finish against Hearts this season was Larssonesque.

I don't really get the told you so attitude to a players ability/form. As a players form fluctuates throughout his career so does the general publics view of his ability and their opinion of him. Everyone has a right to change their opinion of any individual. My opinion on most Celtic players has flip-flopped on countless occasions. It will continue to until I die. last weeks Hero can be this weeks fud.

Great game yesterday and so far this season.

I will put my hand up and admit I said "get rid of" at the start of the season.

Lets hope if this is the BR affect working on JF and he continues like this for years to come (I know he will have his downs) but I hope really hope he doesn't fall back to what we have all seen so many times.

This season he is the player everyone hopef he would become when he first broke into the team. I never thought he would have turned it around this season, but am glad to he wrong.

I'm pretty sure his teammates always said he was consistently the best player in training, even when he was struggling on the pitch. I guess the talent was always there.

Could be wrong, but I believe he signed a three year deal earlier this season.

Wish it was a 5 year! Lol

Did he sign his new contract?
I'm sure that was one of the first things Brendan did.
What about Lustig? Did he get a new one?

Yeah but that's too sensible. If you thought a player was crap in 2013 then you must still think he's crap in 2016. There's no way he could've improved in those 3 years. Much like if you thought a manager was a "fandan" a few months ago you must still think that.

Think BR showed his intent to be the man at Celtic straight away with Almost his first act keeping James at the club,a decision im pretty sure most of us were surprised at.The wee man has certainly repaid the managers faith in him

seemingly, one of the first phone calls BR got after taking the Celtic job advised him that to progress , he'd need to get rid of Gordon, Brown and Forrest.

Thankfully, he paid no attention . :worthy:

Nice to see wee Jamesie back terrorising defences.

Not yet for Lustig, but he seems keen to stay and Rodgers has said he's keen to get him signed up

BR has installed the main thing any footballer thrives on…confidence. None more evident than the Forrest situation.

He started brilliantly this season then went off the boil last few games. Played a blinder yesterday and tore that Logan to bits coupled with his goal!!

Deila clearly fdi not rate him with injury contributing to this also. Relationship with manager now full circle and we see a different Forrest. Now can he make the jump to doing it at European level? Mainly CL group games & be a match winner for us in them?..thats the question as he has it in his armour.
