Getting on a bit

Sevco sat in on the first half with two fullbacks either side. As soon as they tired in the 2nd half both Sinclair and Forrest were more involved. Thought Forrest in particular had a very good second half. Stretched them and made runs inside at the correct moments.

Best attacking player  He was poor. Pish in the first half and only marginally better in the second. Griffiths and Armstrong did more in their time on the pitch than Forest did today.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
#Bantz

He wasn't "excellent" second half. He was a) improved and b) more involved.
Brown and Forrest both excellent in the same game.

Brown dominated the midfield and I've commented on that numerous times today and plenty the whole season so why bring that up as some kind of petty point scoring attempt? :ponder: I recently criticised Brown when he deserved it. Go look at his last performance v the huns at Hampden then look at today. Night and day stuff and like a totally different player. But anyway, this is the Forrest thread, like you say

No, I'm not "at it". I think Forrest (another I've criticised plenty over the years but only praised this season) has been great this season and rightfully in the team. That doesn't escape the fact he was in no way "excellent" at any point today. That's one of his poorer games this season in actual fact. First half he was terrible. Second half he improved and was more involved but had zero end product. Running at their defence then stalling and eventually scooping a shot over the bar doesn't make you excellent

Didn't do much until they started to tire and he came into it. But he put a helluva shift in. I'd have switched Roberts for him as first sub but suppose that's why I'm not getting paid 2.5 million a year.

Poor first half, excellent second half. There defence couldn't get near him. I believe with Forrest some will post anything to back up their long held views on him.
Yip. Never hid from a poor start compared to recent performances. Worked his baws off.

Thought he was a bit patchy today. Kept plugging away though and worked his way into the game.

Thought Armstrong's introduction brought him into the game. The former created more space for James.

Wasn't coming off for him in the first half but he never hid. Second half he drove us up the park and pushed them back. Wasn't spectacular but was essential to keeping them in their own half.

I think this is a myth. Wallace doesn't have to be stopped, because he isn't capable of inflicting pain on the opponent.

That would be the Lee Wallace that made the winner v ICT?

He's crap but he is one of their main attacking outlets. He wasn't yesterday as he was pinned back.

I thought Forrest was better than Sinclair yesterday.
Forrest rarely beats a man, he just runs sideways like a crab :crabflute:

At least Sinclair turns and faces the man one on one and attempts to beat him.

Save a few moments this season (St Johnstone/Hearts) Forrest just doesn't have the ability to beat players.
