As with Fraser Forster his rise in form is being WAY overstated by the same folk who went WAY over the top in their criticism in the first place. Forrest is playing well but really no better than he did, when fit, in spells under Neil Lennon. Of course his many detractors would have you believe Brendan Rodgers is some kind of alchemist who has turned tin foil into gold leaf. The truth is they were just wrong. There is - and always has been - a very good player in there. |

He was shampooe, really shampooe, for years. Even by KDS standards, th revisionism RE Forrest is absolutely mental. |

He was terrible for a good while. I sat at Parkhead and watched him being so. The immature nonsense so noticable when he was playing under Lenny and Ronny has suddenly disappeared as if by magic. The reality, I would guess, is Brendan has had a word in his ear and told him to cut it out. Under Lenny it was understandable given his age...to begin with anyway and under Ronny, he should have been mature enough to cut it out himself. His game and the team are automatically better off for him not indulging in it. Added to his increased work rate and he is having a great season so far for which he deserves the credit he is getting. All I would like now is to see him keep it up over the season. Edited by ghirl86, 2 Oct 2016, 07:07 PM.

Where is the revisionism? I said he showed similar form 'in spells under Lennon'. So yes, that was 'years' ago. He had two utterly wasted seasons under Deila and his last campaign under Lennon was crucified with injury. My point was to those who claimed his ability was a myth, to those were aghast he was given a new contract, and to those who appear to be claiming now these are performances we haven't seen before from Forrest. Both points are a load of nonsense. What you have is a talented player whose career has been hampered with injury, a lack of confidence and plain old bad management. He is fit, has belief in his undoubted ability again - thanks to a good man manager - and has rediscovered something close to his best form. It's as simple as that really. Forrest played well at the begining of last season and the begining of Deila's first season in charge. You had posts on here and articles in the media about Deila getting him back fit and believing in his body. As Murphio said, his poor form had been overstated just as some of the same people are now going ott in their praise of his form this season. Yesterday's display by Forrest wouldve been criticised if put in at the end of last season because there was no end product. Funny what a few goals can do to people's perspectives and opinions. |

As I said above; it was exactly the same with Fraser Forster. There were posters on here who would have had you believe one penalty save against Hearts suddenly turned him from Gordon Marshall into Peter Shilton. The reality is that Forster was a far better keeper than they gave him credit for and his improvement was nowhere near as meteoric as they were making out. Forrest has shown himself capable of this type of form before and it's no real surprise, under a good manager, he is showing it again. |

His "return to form" isn't being overstated, he's never played as well as he currently is. When has he even been close to his current form? |

I remember FF taking stick for his kicking but from his 3rd season onwards being regarded as a very, very good keeper. |

Complete rubbish and the reason for stating so is simply to justify the levels of criticism aimed in his direction. I already answered your question BTW; in spells under Lennon when he wasn't carrying injuries. The notion Rodgers has turned water into wine is beyond laughable and is up there with Forster's penalty save v Hearts in the KDS myth stakes. Yes, Forrest is playing well just now and we have Rodgers to thank for helping him redisover his form but he hasn't suddenly found talent that wasn't there to begin with. |

It is the same - in both cases you have posters way overstating the turnaround in form in order to justify their own posts There were people on here who wanted Forrest hunted, who refused to acknowledge he had any kind of talent, or that he had been hampered by injuries and a lack of confidence. But now he has suddenly been transformed from Willo Flood into David Silva. It's a piece of nonsense. He has always been a talented player - all he needed was a run in the team injury free, managed by someone who has a clue how to manage. |

If he is only playing as good in his prime as he was in his breakthrough years is that not a bit worrying? Fairly obvious Forrest is in the form of his life. |

Nobody has said Forrest's now amazing, or our best player. You're exaggerating the praise he's received on KDS for the purposes of fishing. Edited by Mubo Loravcik, 2 Oct 2016, 10:29 PM.

I'd agree with this. I thought he was average yesterday as were most of the players and that's mostly down to Wednesday's efforts yet I'm seeing folk describe his performance as "excellent" and "great". Don't think any one of our players fit that description yesterday tbh. I thought he was brilliant when he burst onto the scene under Lennon but he regressed every year and it's only now he's looking like the player we expected him to be years ago. So aye, like Murphio says, the talent was always there and it isn't some miracle from Rodgers but at the same time the fact the talent was always there yet never displayed would suggest the criticism of him was justified. If it's Deila's fault (what isn't, these days) why did so many other players progress under him while Forrest went the other way? Edited by McStay, 2 Oct 2016, 10:30 PM.

But there's people who are overstating his form right now who weren't overly critical of him in the past so how does that work? IMO he's just playing his best football and that's why people are praising him. I don't think there's any agenda. |

I've been very critical of him and even though he's playing better now, I still wouldn't care if he'd left. He is playing much better than before, including finally tracking back, and deserves credit for that. I think he still has issues in his game with decision making and his final ball, but right now he's doing well |

No, he was woefully inconsistent before he joined us. Some folk thought he was tricky based on a couple of clips they saw of him on Sportscene. He was never good enough, and won't be at the club after this season. |

Perhaps you can expand on that. What are you classifying as his final ball ? His pass completion % is very good What do you see that is a decision making problem, maybe you could give some examples. |
