His defensive work this season has been nothing short of oustanding. Keep it up wee man.

Probably as impressed tonight with James as I have ever been.

Not eye catching with regard to the attacking side of the game but what an effort.

Attitude and heart - supporting the players around him.

Gobsmacking turn around in performance from previous years.

If he keeps this level of performance up over a season he will have proved me and a lot of others wrong .

Couldn't agree more. Someone commented at the match last night that Brendan has done the same for Forrest as Guardiola has done for Sterling, not too far off the mark

Thought he played really well last night - caused Clichy all sorts of problems when running at him, and was smart defensively.

Best defensive work I've seen from him - perhaps ever

Starting to look like a player, and consistently too

Starting to warm to wee Jamesie

I still think his decision making and final ball at times is lacking but he is night and day away from the player of the last 2 years. What really impressed me last night was his work rate. He worked his effing ass off at times. A few decent runs but all in all this season a completely different player. Keep it up Jamesie

Struggles at points in Europe, but unlike previous seasons his work rate and commitment is outstanding and he deserves enormous credit for that.

No surprise whatsoever. Clearly a talent which was being subdued by, amongst other things, injuries and a lack of confidence. I fully expected Brendan Rodgers would get the best out of a fully fit Forrest. Cliche it may be but it is indeed like having a new player.

Definitely not always been a fan - he's been subject to plenty of foul mouthed tirades from me in the past several seasons - mainly due to his frequent loss of posession, inability to take a man on and lack of willingness to track back.

I won't take it back because it was true at the time and if I was watching a match replay now I'd rant again. But I will officially say he has totally turned it around and we are FINALLY seeing the player we all knew he had the potential to be.

Not to mention I'm genuinely delighted for him because he has obviously worked hard on the above on the basis of this season's performances so far. You certainly get back what you put in. And he has my faith now.

But effing hell, I still can't watch the wee carrot run! :cannaewatch:

Forrest not the only one doing back tracking now. An awful lot of posters are back tracking like never before on this thread. Personally I'd have punted them earlier- their heart wasn't in it and they'd given up trying.
Thankfully they got a second chance.
I think the lesson is that good posters don't become bad ones overnight

The turn around has been outstanding. He also seems to have sorted out the niggly injuries that were holding him back.
