There's a fear about his play. I think he's done with us a new challenge may bring out something in him.
Yep. No harm to him but his best days as a Celtic player are behind him.

Don't let the door hit your arse on the way out :Bye:
Constructive comment. Why the dislike for players who are either under performing, lacking confidence or just not good enough?

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
A fit Forrest is a far better player than Gary Mackay-Steven.
.........eeehhhh.......

Leave that with me.

Are you related to James?
I'm not Forrests' biggest fan but if we were to sell him better clubs than Sheffield United would be interested.

We're fighting for a treble, its not time to give kids a game. He does look like he might make it but he'll have to wait till next season for his chance.

Poor again when he came on.

Good to see the boo boys out in force. He was far from the worst.
I agree.

'poor again'.

I still have faith James. The abuse he got tonight from the stand was embarrassing. The new boo boy because there is no-one else really to have a go at.
This comment is pitiful.

What did James Forrest bring to the game tonight.

Our two defensive wing backs, as it were, were not on the pitch, Izzy & Matthews. That's why he was put on as a sub.

Unless told otherwise by Delia, wee james's job was to provide.... eh... width.

HE ( I assume) decided not to do that.

What was his purpose on the pitch?

Effe efin' Ambrose was as wide as him on the pitch.

If I was Delia, I would have said, 'stay on the touchline and go at the full back'.

It's not hard, given his well-hidden and ultimately inneffectual pace.

He didn't. In that respect he is very consistent.

He has no ambition.

None.
That's all very well but you have no idea what instructions he was given.

i know what you mean , but this could have or should have been a night after the weekend result that he could have had the 10/15 mins that james got if we had been ahead, giving james as much time as possible for extra strength work and development games for confidence

“I never got over an injury from the end of last term but since around October and November, I’ve been much better,” said Forrest.

“I did a lot of strength work after pre-season because I wasn’t fully fit. That took me a couple of months to build myself up through strengthening and getting my body right.”

Forrest was an unused sub for the game against Aberdeen last weekend and if he gets game time this evening against St Johnstone, he needs to make the most of it and cash in.

He’s facing a real challenge because domestically, the Bhoys have been in great form in recent weeks, which has restricted the number of chances he’s been given.
People saying he's lacking fitness, may have missed this quote earlier. Evidently he's been injury free for nearly 4 months. He's likely just not good enough

FWIW I'd have started Forrest ahead of GMS with the DU games in mind. I'd love to see a few kids get a game but nows not the time.

With gms & Armstrong ineligible for the cup games, and commons a doubt, he needs to be hitting form sharp.
If stokes and Griffiths start on the wings with Scepovic/ Guidetti up front I worry for his future at the club

Same applies if McGregor or wakaso start too

Wakaso put in a couple of decent crosses but was awful defensively.

Has Forrest played any games for the development squad? He looks like he needs a run of games to knock the rust off if he's actually fit. Lacking confidence and touch at the moment.
