Not an easy game for James but he stuck with it and made a good contribution.

Giving his all for the team.

Brendan is some manager.

I thought he was great helping to win the ball back, never seen him like that before. He wasn't as good going forward as he was recently tho.

Forrest played well and contributed more than Sinclair on the other flank but because he's been here for years some folk will only see what he isn't doing and miss out on what he is doing. The effort he is giving just now under Rodgers is immense. Playing the whole game running up and down the pitch both with and without the ball as well as drifting inside and getting into the box. Yes he's going to try something that doesn't work or make a few wrong decisions but that is part of being a wide forward. If at the moment he is creating through perspiration rather than inspiration I'll take it. Especially in European games.

Thought he was posted missing at times in the first half, but then produced some good football. Set up the griff with a great ball to the back post area.

Second half he showed his worth with taking the ball forward at pace, linking up well, cutting inside, setting up Broony for his peachy volley 😊 and then booked for giving it everything including some time wasting stuff.

Far more involved in the game than Sinclair offensively, but both were still working their arses off near the end to get behind the ball

 at one point he appeared at left midfield to win the ball and lay it off quickly to the wide player. Excellent performance last night from the wee man.

Forrest isn't the only one benefiting from whatever it is Rodgers has brought to the squad, he's been great so far this season in terms of both attitude and contribution.

Some players split the support and no matter what they do, or as the case may be, don't do, opinions are entrenched. Forrest and Griffiths readily spring to mind. Critics of Forrest are deluding themselves if they won't acknowledge he has turned his form on its head this season. How or why matters not a jot as we are watching a Celtic player who has recaptured his game and putting it in for his manager. The team are better for it.

I've criticised Forrest and with plenty of justification but it's great to see a player with talent showing signs of living up to what he's capable of. Every real supporter should be happy to see any player who has been underachieving, getting going again. Long may it continue.

The work he put in last night was awesome. Didn't beat his full back as often as against Motherwell, but I can forgive that if he's contributing off the ball. Great cross for Griff's header.

An entirely new player almost. Keep it up Jamesy.

Agree it was a great cross and I think he deserves credit for having his head up for the end of that run - you could see that the cross was placed exactly where Griffiths was running to and I thought it was excellent that Forrest had the good sense to look up and see exactly what cross would bring the best result, instead of just whipping it in across the face of goal.

I think it's a little early to crack open the champagne - 'this season' is two weeks old ffs

Let's see a consistent improvement over the course of the next few months before we rewrite the book on Forrest

It's pleasing to see this improvement but a wee bit of perspective is needed - it's very early days still

Wee bit confusion maybe. I'm not claiming he'll be a star and agree he still has plenty to prove. My point is he's unrecognisable from the player we've been watching in recent years. That alone is cause for a degree of optimism.

I wasn't happy with some of the performances he had turned in over the last few seasons. And even now he looks like he could be back to showing the promise and talent he had when he first broke through. A lot of people including me were very frustrated with him and would have been glad to see the back of him. I thought it was strange that he rejected the previous offer under Ronny and was playing a dangerous game letting his contract run down. But I now think he is either very sensible or has a good advisor, waiting to see who would replace Ronny and what sort of game they wanted to play and weather he could be a part of that type of team. Fair play wee guy, you still run like Phoebe Buffay though

Couldnt say it better. I thought he was outstanding last night. It is clear that he especially, among other players, seems to be buying in to Brendan. Cant quite believe the confidence that seems to be pouring out of at the moment, considering its only the start of the season. Really feel that Forrest has got to play this weekend too, dont think resting him would do him any good. He is in good form - play him.
