You have to wonder where this zest was last year.

That said I am loving watching him give the game everything he has - cutting crosses out as the last man , chasing back 40 yards to stop an attack dead , launching into tackles , linking up well with team mates and taking men on.

Keep it up James.

Good enough backup to Roberts if he can keep up this type of form.
I'd rather we stuck by an improving home grown player before pining for a loanee.
You can't be serious.

You think we should play Forrest over Roberts this season, because the latter is not our permanent player?
That's not what I said.

If Forrest continues to improve, continues to contribute, grows in confidence, scores , assists, shows that he's willing to do everything he's been criticised for not doing...he should just be dropped then? Are we just going to always surmise the worst will happen rather than support him when he's playing well ? Hardly giving him a chance to see if Brendan can bring out the best of him and so far he's improved and showing improvement yet here we are wanting rid of him and not willing to see if there's more to come.

if Forrest is part of us being a success and contributing to it I find it strange that we'd not want that. Who benefits the most if he does ?

Brendan's wanting to do things the Celtic way, he keeps saying it iI'm pretty sure that attacking, exciting football and bringing success is not where that stops, I believe that cultivating our own players is one of them and should always be one of them? Is it seriously to bring on someone else's ? It's certainly not to hope a player keeps failing rather than wish the opposite.

Paddy Roberts is fantastic though.

It was nice to see him using his pace to go past the fullback again. Seems like he's not had the confidence the last couple of years to just knock it beyond him and run.

Very good last night, pleasing to see the defensive side of his game develop and pressing so hard. Looks like Brendan is going to get the best out of him.

If he keeps that up, he'll be invaluable against teams that push high up the pitch (Europe and Huns for starters).. Between him and Roberts, we have two great options on the right depending on how the opposition set themselves up.

  ffs weakest forward player. Why put a negative slant on his performance? Guy played well, credit where its due
Far be it from me to fight other folks corner but technically hes correct in what he said.

The lad did very very well tonight and id love to see much more of this and more of what we all know hes actually capable of shining through in his play. Ive been one of his fiercest critics and because im a right arse of a boy and dont like admitting when im wrong about something he will still come under scrutiny from me. All joking aside he has a lot more to do, hes starting to show signs of turning it around though and that should make any Celtic fan happy.

Fine to chat about the game but, given the result and Forrest's performance, the OP was just being a miserable bastard.

I no longer wanted to see him around Celtic. He's failed to deliver for too long. He's lacked courage, shown too little intelligence (on field, although he's been smart enough to pick up his pay check) and almost no desire. To me he's hidden under the cover of injuries and poor managers - in any other business he'd be the first employee shown the exit sign.

That said, if BR sees a value, and JF consistently plays with more of the attitude and ability he demonstrated against Motherwell I'll be delighted that he's contributing to a successful Celtic ... I'll never sing his praises, but I hope he makes it easy for me to appreciate his commitment.

He has been kidnapped and replaced :o

The player thats played recently is the forrest we all want to see, direct, pacey, looking up, tracking back and tackling  Keep it up son!

On another note and without wanting to sound like some one from a boots counter  His face and skin have the look of some one who is in peak fitness, he looks leaner and fitter, perhaps the new regime have the players training and eating properly.

"desire, courage ...intelligence" " he's hidden under the cover of injuries and poor managers".
This is just waffling opinion which is impossible to prove or refute

You'll " never sing his praises" - no matter what he does?
Nothing like an open mind eh?

Fact is RD's era had a negative affect on many players.

I said after the last game that he still doesn't look like the player he was. I still think he's lost the afterburner turn of pace that gave him his edge and that ultimately he's an average player without it but right now he's an average player performing at the top of his capabilities with whatever Rodgers is doing. Playing like this he's a very able option as 3rd choice winger after Sinclair and Roberts.

His Celtic career to date has been frequently frustrating and occasionally infuriating. His overall contribution has not matched his obvious ability. There has however been games where, when fit and on form, he has tormented defences and looked a genuinely outstanding talent. He can be a devastatingly effective attacking option.

BR seems confident Forrest can not only now deliver such performances on a much more consistent basis but also improve the weaker defensive aspects of his game. That would take improved attitude and fitness. His attitude certainly seems spot on but we can only keep our fingers crossed for an injury free campaign. A month ago I cared little if he stayed or moved on. While accepting we may be witnessing another false dawn I have enough faith in the manager to be genuinely excited by Forrest's potential contribution to the season ahead.

He looks a bit more lean and obviously now has an aggression that was missing.

If Bitton can find that same aggression then we potentially have a very good team on our hands.

Need a better keeper though, CG's distribution is wild.
