All you haters....we spent 3-4m on Sinclair......here's another 3-4m......who would we have bought to replace JF?

:handbags:
I can understand the split opinions here but surely the amount it would take to replace Forrest (fee and wages) must have factored in here. Lawwell has clearly given Rodgers time to assess who he considers an asset to the team and playing strategy, and those that he has given the nod, has resulted in us tying up these players on longer term contracts. If they disappear and don't fulfil the faith that the manager is placing in them over the next year or so, at least we've got a resale value.

Forrest and Rogic fall very much into that camp. Some others won't be spared.

I think this is a mistake. I expect him to be injured or back out of form in a month.

But need to give the player and manager benefit of the doubt.

Folk often accuse Forrest (and others) of 'hiding' during games.

Can someone define exactly what 'hiding' means? Because I honestly don't have a clue.
the action of concealing someone or something

Forrest is pretty wee, so it's easily done, I suppose!

What a bizarre post.

Do you not no what 'hiding' means or do you know what it means but think Forrest doesn't do it?

Given you've obviously read players being accused of hiding and you are saying you don't know what it means you must have at least tried to comprehend it, what do you think people mean when they say a player is 'hiding'?
Bizarre post? I'm simply asking what folk's definition of hiding is? Some have different opinions than others.

I appreciate the non-sarcastic responses. I actually received one of those.

Still think he'll be gone within a year but at least we'll get a bigger fee for him when he leaves.
It's good management by BR.
Doubt if any team was in for him before he signed the contract. Made it clear too he wanted to know his options. Thinking it was us or nothing

Not showing in space for passes, looks like you are marked but really not wanting the ball in tight situations especially when the crowd is restless.

I do it at 5s when I need a rest. So like 90% of the time.

The trick is to look disappointed when your team mate doesn't make the pass you made impossible. Triple whammy, you don't make any mistakes, you look like you are trying and the crowd turn on your team mate.

Added points for being a good team mate if you give him a pat on the back and tell him to keep his chin up.
Thanks for the response. See, Forrest doesn't strike me as the devious type, so I'm confused as to why folk say he's hiding, when in fact could be injured, lacks confidence, or is not the player we thought he might end up binge.

I can think of one or two others who can be accused of one, or several, of the actions you listed.

Maybe I have too much faith in people, but I don't think Forrest is one of those.

adamsmith is spot on, but the bit he missed is when we have a throw in or a free kick and players turn away so the thrower sees the back of his jersey. That's "hiding", and Forrest is very guilty of it at times.
Fair enough.

No transfer fee involved - I don't think we would get much for him at the moment anyway - if it doesn't work out we can still punt him in a year or two - if it does work out we will probably punt him in a year or two anyway

I would say its a big season for him but this waste of space seems to fool managers by having a good couple of games here and there. He doesnt even need a make or break season.

End result is Brendan Rodgers wanted him and im guessing the money isnt huge in comparison to what he would have had to spend to get someone right now. In that respect if Brendan wanted him signed then we need to go with it, you cant pick and choose the bits of a manager you trust, you either trust him to get the job done and his judgement or you dont.

All that said, he will let you down Brendan.....of that there is no doubt.

I think James is probably the luckiest man in Celtic history to be offered a new contract. He doesn't deserve it at least until he has played a consistent run of games to show that he has his mojo back. Less than impressed with this.

That's unfair. When Forrest does that he's looking for one over the top which he can run onto and fall over.

IF BR can get him to kick with his left foot, miss the first man when "crossing", look up once in a while and pick the correct player to pass to, and pass accurately more consistently than he does, then it will have been a contract worth offering.
And if your auntie had baws, she'd be your uncle :suspect:

He's one lazy, greeting faced wee tadger with flashes of errr his tadger and who constantly needs players to cover for him whilst he appeals for free kicks. And I think he's lost his pace. But otherwise it's like a new signing!
