Folk often accuse Forrest (and others) of 'hiding' during games.

Can someone define exactly what 'hiding' means? Because I honestly don't have a clue.
Not showing in space for passes, looks like you are marked but really not wanting the ball in tight situations especially when the crowd is restless.

I do it at 5s when I need a rest. So like 90% of the time.

The trick is to look disappointed when your team mate doesn't make the pass you made impossible. Triple whammy, you don't make any mistakes, you look like you are trying and the crowd turn on your team mate.

Added points for being a good team mate if you give him a pat on the back and tell him to keep his chin up.
As good a summation of Forrest that I've seen. :worthy:

Absolutely mental decision, I hope it's on massively reduced terms.

If he improves it'll be welcomed, but won't hold my breath.

adamsmith is spot on, but the bit he missed is when we have a throw in or a free kick and players turn away so the thrower sees the back of his jersey. That's "hiding", and Forrest is very guilty of it at times.

It's a win win for me, I wanted him punted because on all evidence he had lost his way under RD however that may have had more to do with RD than Forrest, if he maintains form then great we can keep or punt as required, if he doesn't maintain form then there hasn't a transfer fee paid out so not great loss.

Excellent news and we all now know that Rodgers knows a player when he sees one.

:bawman:
Ultimately if Rodgers wants him, then its great that he's signed. It looks as though BR has made his mind about a few players. Scott Allan, Liam Henderson, Commons and GMS all look as if they wont make the cut.
Efe won't be far away from that list, jury out on a few others, most likely Ciftci and Christie included.

We still need a holding midfielder, anyone seen enough to suggest young Ajer might be the immediate answer? I've always maintained if a player is good enough he is ready but an experienced head as an option would be great for the big games ahead.

This may come as a shock but I'm not over the moon about this

I always think it's a major risk dishing out new deals after a couple of weeks

Would rather have seen a consistent improvement before this

As much as I've slated James on numerous occasions he's capable of being a useful squad player ahead of the likes of Armstrong & GMS in the wide areas.

Although I'd hope we aren't seeing him as a long term first 11 player.

Wingers are a special breed. The most difficult thing for them to achieve is consistency. Wingers need to beat their man, create opportunities and score goals. As soon as any of these three dip, they're having a stinker. The best of them just get up and go at it again, most of them have their confidence affected. Very difficult to name affective wingers. Look at the big names....Ribery.....Robben.....Figo.....these guys are worth their weight in gold. Big money signings who have struggled.....Navas.....Pedro.....Sterling.

We now have JF, Roberts, Sinclair, GMS and Christie....I'm pleased with that choice of wide players for us.....Think the first choices will be Roberts and Sinclair with JF close behind and GMS and Christie to cover injuries. I'm happy we have him resigned and will continue to be frustrated by him but delighted when he gets it right.

If I have to shout at him again as I did in the Camp Nou when he didn't track Alba for their late winner (I'd warned him 3 times, but he couldn't here me), I won't be a happy chappy.....but then again, we are talking about Barça.

Not of the standard I'd hoped we'd be looking for when Rodgers came in. I was hoping we'd be dumping the likes of Mulgrew, Forrest, GMS, basically the SPL level players.

I'm new. Be gentle.
Hi All, let me say straight off I'm absolutely delighted with this news . In truth I thought James would maybe have needed another environment to allow his ( for me ) undoubted ability to flourish. I accept He's not been anywhere near the player He can be in the last couple of seasons, maybe even more . But when we actually think about it He's most certainly not the only one . Brown anyone ?

I've felt for quite some time now that we have very good players a Celtic who look anything but, in fact they look at best ordinary. The reasons for that are many and varied . There has been a real malaise surrounding the whole club for a number of years . Complacency at board room level which came about because the competition wasn't of a sufficient level to affect our ambitions . That situation led to a creeping negativity right across the whole Celtic world , the board, the supporters, and yes the players. Some obviously more that others.

The good news is we now have what we've been craving, a manager who is most definitely his own man, a manager who, even this early, has shown He is prepared to make changes as a games progresses if He feels it's merited . Also He has proved as good as his word and has given the group of players He inherited the chance to prove to him they deserve a place . James Forrest is one of this players and the manager's call is that he wants to keep him.

I've mentioned Brown ,another player who has been getting slaughtered by fans and pundits alike of late, yet for me He along with Forrest were outstanding against a very difficult, very physical opposition on Sunday. Sign of things to come ? I hope so . Can I just say I fully respect all of you who contribute to this or any other debate, you most certainly have the right to voice your opinion without fear of abuse . Please remember though, that applies to each and every one of us . Hail, Hail, and may your God be with you .

I get why people want him moved on but can't wrap my head round why they think he's not a good player. It's absolutely obvious to me that he has a great deal of ability. He's not living up to it certainly, but the ability is clearly there.
Because his injury record is mental. Also, for a guy who started so young, he's never really added anything new to his game. For me, his lack of effort under Deila was a shambles. No wonder he stopped getting games, he barely tried at times. Annoying how many people are just happy to give him yet another go because he looks like he can be arsed again. OK, most of us never rated Ronny, but people are happy to let players away with effectively not trying under him.

I will be delighted if he proves me wrong, though. If his performances the last couple of games become even better and more consistent then fair enough.
If we let go of every person that didn't try a leg under Deila we'd only have three players right now.

IF BR can get him to kick with his left foot, miss the first man when "crossing", look up once in a while and pick the correct player to pass to, and pass accurately more consistently than he does, then it will have been a contract worth offering.

To me, a player NOT hiding is someone wanting the ball and showing it by making himself available for a pass.

Going by his last few games and obviously BR factor coming into play im glad he signed. He mustve hated RD and JC

Enough to get Ronny the sack? effing hope not. I'm in the regret it later camp. If anyone from England had came in for him he'd have been off.
