OK, most of us never rated Ronny, but people are happy to let players away with effectively not trying under him.
if we got rid of all the players who didn't try under Deila, we'd be starting from scratch.
  very true. I still reserve the right to be pissed off about that, though. Same as I wanted the arseholes at Liverpool who stopped trying under Rodgers to get hunted.

I get why people want him moved on but can't wrap my head round why they think he's not a good player. It's absolutely obvious to me that he has a great deal of ability. He's not living up to it certainly, but the ability is clearly there.
My issue is his lack of development, he still makes the same mistakes he did 5 years ago.
Also he plays like he doesn't watch any other football or even our games back, his reading of a game and situation is terrible for someone that's played about 200 top level games.

Fairly ambivalent about it. He can be a good player and as cover for Sinclair and Roberts I'd have him ahead of GMS, Armstrong or whoever. Roberts, fantastic talent that he is, is only a short term option. Hopefully BR can get inside his head and turn him into a first pick. If not we should at least get some cash for him next season rather than him leaving for nothing.
My feelings also

Rather this than lose him for nowt. I understand he has qualities that we need but James has done less than most any players I can think of who have spent so many years at the Club, has to show his worth now and maintain fitness.

I used to argue that Forrest is one of the Celtic players with the highest top level and he was very good in the beginning of last season before he got injured. When he got back, he was pretty crap for the rest of the season. But he´s absolutely a player with huge potential. Happy to read he finally signed a new contract and hopefully Rodgers can help him improve on the defensive part of his game.

Hope he stuffs my many years of criticism down my throat. We'll see.

BR obviously wants him around.
Or by signing him up Celtic are just ensuring they get some money for him if and when he goes. As long as he plays reasonably well it's a no lose situation.

Guess we can revisit in June and find out

he has talent and i hope BR can get him to use it. on the plus side the way we are signing players we still want appears to show mulgrew is not in mix for new contract
I wouldn't speak too soon! Rogic, Forrest... things sometimes come in threes.

Rather than the club/BR being proactive, maybe the ones who have just signed decided they might be best taking what had been offered. Who's to say Charlie might not be in the same boat?

I think he's all about confidence so hopefully BR is giving him that. If not, sell next year and no harm done.

Had high hopes we would move 5 or six on and bring 2-3 more quality in.
GMS, Commons and Armstrong to name but 3

Folk often accuse Forrest (and others) of 'hiding' during games.

Can someone define exactly what 'hiding' means? Because I honestly don't have a clue.

He's an out and out Winger, that's the name of their game. Personally I love watching them but consistency is no friend to those chaps.

Luckiest boy in Scotland right now.
I really want him to be a successful Celtic player but I just don't think he will be. I hope I'm wrong.

Not showing in space for passes, looks like you are marked but really not wanting the ball in tight situations especially when the crowd is restless.

I do it at 5s when I need a rest. So like 90% of the time.

The trick is to look disappointed when your team mate doesn't make the pass you made impossible. Triple whammy, you don't make any mistakes, you look like you are trying and the crowd turn on your team mate.

Added points for being a good team mate if you give him a pat on the back and tell him to keep his chin up.

Happy with this.

He has the talent and I think a good coach with a game plan that everyone understands will bring out the best of him.

I've seen him try more over the last few weeks which is hopefully down to BR.

Most managers get a dead cats bounce from players, the really good managers ensure that the new standard is maintained and built on.

Remembering that Roberts probably goes at the end of the season also needs to be taken into consideration.

OK, most of us never rated Ronny

The rewriting of history continues.

If anybody has the time or the inclination they can see that a lot of people on here rated Ronny very highly.

Excellent news and we all now know that Rodgers knows a player when he sees one.

:bawman:
Ultimately if Rodgers wants him, then its great that he's signed. It looks as though BR has made his mind about a few players. Scott Allan, Liam Henderson, Commons and GMS all look as if they wont make the cut.
