Defo a player in there - let's see if BR can force it out.

Excellent news and we all now know that Rodgers knows a player when he sees one.

If Brendan can convert him he could be the defensive midfielder we're looking for.

Well in, James.

Don't see why there's so much animosity for Forrest. He'll spend most of this year as understudy/sub to Paddy Roberts. That alone is worth the contract, and he might just recapture some of the form/appetite he had previously. We need players beyond the first 11.

I get why people want him moved on but can't wrap my head round why they think he's not a good player. It's absolutely obvious to me that he has a great deal of ability. He's not living up to it certainly, but the ability is clearly there.
Because his injury record is mental. Also, for a guy who started so young, he's never really added anything new to his game. For me, his lack of effort under Deila was a shambles. No wonder he stopped getting games, he barely tried at times. Annoying how many people are just happy to give him yet another go because he looks like he can be arsed again. OK, most of us never rated Ronny, but people are happy to let players away with effectively not trying under him.

I will be delighted if he proves me wrong, though. If his performances the last couple of games become even better and more consistent then fair enough.

if we got rid of all the players who didn't try under Deila, we'd be starting from scratch.

Its not ability, its heart, courage and brains that are his problem. The Lion, The Scarecrow and The Tinman in one

When was his last prolonged injury ? And we'd have very few players left if we got rid of the non triers under Deila.

Simply because he has not been or shown that he is a good player for quite a while now. I also can't wrap my head around why some refuse to acknowledge he has put in some right gutless and heartless displays that have justified criticism of him.

I try my best at games not join in the moaning and groaning as I feel it serves little purpose in helping the team. I save my grumbling for on here and watching James at games was infuriating at times.

The fact there are others as bad in no way excuses him either.

Indifferent about this for now. Time will tell if he can build on the Sundays performance but the worry still exists that he will fade into mediocrity now that his new contract has been secured. Time to prove the doubters wrong wee man.

No we don't. Transfer committees or not he has been involved in some atrocious signings.

Hoping he will take his chance this time. If not then at least with the new contract we will get some type of fee if Brendan decides to let him go

Fairly ambivalent about it. He can be a good player and as cover for Sinclair and Roberts I'd have him ahead of GMS, Armstrong or whoever. Roberts, fantastic talent that he is, is only a short term option. Hopefully BR can get inside his head and turn him into a first pick. If not we should at least get some cash for him next season rather than him leaving for nothing.

Let's not give Ronny this 'out' now that all the failings were down to players not trying. We didn't go out to Maribor/Malmo and lose to Molde because of lack of effort

 He's always had the talent.

Pleased with this all in all. It's another indication (along with the Rogic deal) that the players are buying into the manager and his plans, which can only be a good thing. We're beginning to feel like a team with a direction again.
