“I never got over an injury from the end of last term but since around October and November, I’ve been much better,” said Forrest.

“I did a lot of strength work after pre-season because I wasn’t fully fit. That took me a couple of months to build myself up through strengthening and getting my body right.”

Forrest was an unused sub for the game against Aberdeen last weekend and if he gets game time this evening against St Johnstone, he needs to make the most of it and cash in.

He’s facing a real challenge because domestically, the Bhoys have been in great form in recent weeks, which has restricted the number of chances he’s been given.

I wondered what player threads would pop up after a loss like that.

If I was forced to guess I'd have said Ambrose and Forrest. Pretty reactionary stuff. Not great, but not exactly the crux of all that is wrong. It happens.

Plenty enterprise actually, just needing develop a cutting edge. A bit like the rest of the team tonight.

Time to go. He was poor like many others tonight but he has done hardly anything recently. He has gone backwards as a player.

He had more touches after he came on than Griffiths had in the whole game. Not very effective certainly but don't think he hid.

It's not happening for him but it's just extremely harsh to rage at a 30 min sub appearance as some sort of defence mechanism for a defeat.

Reactionary tosh.

He is pish that's why the thread pops up. Only an eternal optimist still thinks he will start showing any sort of form with us. His days here are numbered.

Plenty enterprise? Every time Forrest got the ball into feet (except once) he headed infield and played a square pass. Any time the right full back had the ball, Forrest hid in the channel rather than making himself available.

He is hiding at the moment. If he's not ready to play, he shouldn't be playing. If he is ready to play, he needs to start showing for the ball. Doesn't look confident in his own ability right now.

Hardly reactionary given his form hasn't been great for best part of 3-4 years.

He was absolutely dreadful. He was not alone, but I certainly thought he hid. He got given the ball but gave it away consistently, never once beat his man and not once attempted to track back and regain the ball. At one point in the game both VVD and Brown ran past him to regain the ball after he gave it away, whilst he stopped running.

I've defended Forrest but tonight ended it. I take take players who make mistakes and yes players get injured but what I cannot abide is stupidity.

I think Forrest is a stupid player, he makes bad decisions time after time after time. Injuries can be overcome and mistakes ironed out but you can't teach good decision making.

He has gone backwards as a player.
Literally.Too often runs a few yards with the ball before playing it back which is a bit pointless. He has limited tricks and if he's lost the explosive burst he had there's not much left.
