Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I did and that's partly why I posted earlier that people perhaps needed to calm down a bit after one not bad game

Actually after one not bad first half

I'm glad he scored and showed a bit of appetite today but I'm not gonna go overboard as it's the first time he's done it for more that two seasons - the gushing about his performance today was over the top IMO

We got a good result today and a few played their part but we missed Roberts and had a couple of passengers in Armstrong and to a lesser extent McGregor - once Sinclair is in on a regular basis and Roberts is fit - at best he'll be back up - can his attitude cope with that? I'm not sure
Forrest has been playing well for a while people just don't want to admit it same as brown - you missed Lustig as one of our best players BTW

We want 2 players for each position so I'd put him on the list of keepers - wingers are often picking up injuries whether it being taken out by the opposition at speed or their hamstrings go - sure he's attitude stunk for a while but that goes for a lot of the others but it looks like he's turning the corner so why not praise him

Agree about Lustig - wasn't left out on purpose to be fair

I did say he did well today , good goal and better appetite / just not going along with the over the top praise he got

Thought he showed some real skill and attacking intent today, especially first half.

Rodgers interview afterwards shows he really rates him. Some better get used to that.
Is BR going to leave Sinclair or Roberts out for him?

I'd say no - so back up at best if, if he improves - is he the type to settle for being an occasional sub? Again I'm not so sure

He's also not gonna talk down his players - he was happy to let him go it seemed till Forrest himself said he loved the new regime and wanted a chance going by what I heard after the game today - BR has just signed THE player he wanted to play in that position as well - he may well get a new deal but he will not be keeping Sinclair or Roberts out the team
Accept that mate, but i think rodgers genuinely rates forrest and thinks he can improve him.

Just waiting for all the fannies who slate him every week come on to even admit he played well.

Could be a while.
Get your head out of the boys arse for just a minute. He played ok today, a nice finish, but its one game in how many?

Be good to see Sinclair and Roberts on the wings so we can have players of actual quality, not one good game in 3 years

Fair enough

I genuinely won't be gutted if he manages to - promise :ph43r:

Forrest had a good start of last season as well. Some consistency is what is needed, but if he can avoid injuries he might be a very important player for Celtic this season. Showed proof of good technics last night.

I thought goal aside he was effing horrendous again. Happy if he keeps scoring but his crossing was very poor and he kept on running into players. IMO, obviously.
Do you understand football?

I'll go for no.
Thank God you responded to my comment, because I don't know what I'd do without your sane, balanced, and intensely detailed opinions on James Forrest.

You actually believe it so there's no point is there. Have a dig at the guy when he is pish but don't make it up to strengthen your point of view on him.

I'm being a bit flippant to be fair but in all honesty - he's been poor for a number of seasons - I can't remember going home after a home game certainly for at least 3 seasons and saying 'Forrest was excellent today' not once - 'Forrest was frustrating' said that 'Forrest was lazy' said that 'Forrest was really disappointing' yip - 'Forrest started okay today but fell away' that too - it's unfair to suggest he's been anything other than a serious let down for seasons

He did well today though so fair enough - none of that matters anymore

He has been permanently injured up until last season when he was poor

:brickwall: can't believe it looks like this imposter is going to get a new deal . How long after he gets his new deal before he's back to being shampooe or injured again. I give him a week.
Aye I'm sure the 1st thing on his mind if he were to sign a new contract is to chuck it.

When was the last time he was out with a prolonged injury ?
I reckon there would be fair chance he would do exactly that . What do you call it when a player has ability and consistently fails to perform to the best of the ability ? I would say thats chucking it , can't be arsed ? call it what you want. Get rid asap as he will only let us all down again.
Did you see the game. if you did and thought he was horrendous that tells us an awful lot about you.
Check the MOM and then tell all of those who had Forrest in their top three( which was the majority ) they know eff all about the game.
because that is really what you are saying in your post.

I thought Forrest was excellent today, he had their defence on toast in the first half but the most pleasing aspect for me was his fitness and enthusiasm in the 90th minute, still looked fresh and still willing to sprint the length of the pitch.

Forrest is at his best on the right, he can be more direct over there and its more natural for him cutting inside than it is when he's on the left

Sinclair & Roberts will no doubt be our main two wide players if/when 100% fit but they both need competition and Forrest can provide that, theres no reason why he wouldn't feature in 40+ games this season

I'll say it :arrr:

Anyone who had Forrest in their top 3 knows eff all and were somehow confused by a semi decent performance that they've turned it into something it was not - he was not better than Kolo Brown Tierney Lustig or O'conner for a start

I get people want him to be better than he is - want him to be the player Lennon said he was but he's not been - sorry - I dont want him to be shampooe but he has been

We need to stop hoping he turns in more than the odd moment and actually have a team that's capable of performing better than we have had in recent years - a decent game is welcome but it doesn't change much - he needs to do so much more and do it consistently - something I don't think he's done since 2011/12 season

I've thought he was shampooe for the last few years, but he's playing a good game under Rodgers.
