Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
He was our best player for a couple of seasons (absolutely carried us for a while under Strachan), did well in Russia and has 85 caps for Ireland. He's been poor at Everton and don't know how he's got on at Sheffield Wednesday but he is a good player and he's had a good career (although his next move really does need to be the right one).
Made a lot of money without having a good career.
Playing for and winning trophies at Celtic, playing well in a good Spartak team, playing in the Champions League, getting 85 caps for your country (sort of :ph43r: ) and getting a move to a good EPL club is a career which is completely unobtainable for 99% of our youth products. It could have been better, but he's had a good career.

Other than his spell at Spartak his career is no different to loads of other Scottish/Irish players who started out in the SPL. He's either massively underachieved or was never that good in the first place.

I watched him a couple of times yesterday get the ball in a place where you'd say "go on!" but he went so far then saw he might be confronted by an opponent and instead of taking it on he stops and wants to track back or worse still pass it sideways!

Won't be sorry to see the back of him.

You mean other than his spells at Celtic and Spartak and his 85 caps?

There are a handful of SPL-reared players who have had careers like McGeady's - McCarthy, Maloney and you could put McArthur, Marshall and S. Fletcher in there. There aren't loads.

He probably has still underachieved though. I don't think Russia was a very good move for him, but his bank balance probably disagrees.

Decent first 15 minutes but should be running riot on the wing against the imps. The sooner he goes the better for both club and player

Good game tonight and he looked a bit slimmer. Depending on wages he would be a decent squad player.

Yup. Started well and faded out of the game against part timers, at home.
Has had enough chances.

Played well. Anyone who says he didn't would have said that regardless. Saw so much less of the ball second half and faded a bit.

He had a couple of decent moments, but should be offering far more. For the majority of the first half Roberts was the outball as he was making things happen. Forrest was offering far less.

He has the pace to beat most other players but rarely makes things happen. We need wide players who will take the game to the opposition, Forrest doesn't do that we'll enough or regularly enough for me.

We were playing amateurs tonight and Forrest did not take a chance to shine.

I did indeed.

Roberts was our outball and the one player we looked to when trying to create something. Forrest had some moments on the ball but he wasn't creating many clear cut chances.
