James Forrest has pace and an eye for goal (a rare thing with a lot of wide players).
His career has stalled due to injuries not lack of ability.
If he can stay fit he's potentially a huge asset for us.
What and when are you basing this opinion on?

Not against BR giving him a chance and making him earn it but nothing should be on the table right now. He's done nothing for ages.
Is this not all just about him having 6 months left on his contract and BR saying he has 6th months to save his Celtic career?

Don't think it's any more than that.

Didn't see Rodgers comments. Just the rumour yesterday he had been already offered one

He's shampooe. Get him tae eff.
Gotta agree with that. He's had his chance(s), time to get rid.

I find the hatred for Forrest a bit bizarre. Why wouldn't we want a player of undoubted talent to at least be given a chance under a new manager? Give Rodgers a chance - what have we got to lose?

I can see why Rodgers would want to hang on to him. The problem with JF, however, is hes either sugar or shampooe, either an 9/10 or 4/10. He has far far more poor games than good games and has a questionable attitude when thinggs arent going his way. On his day he can be a match winner so hopefully BR can get it out of him more regularly than previous managers.

Correct. His problem is not that he doesn't have it - his problem is that he hasn't been able to do it often enough. I get the frustration and it IS very disappointing that he hasn't kicked on - if anything he has gone backwards. A lot of that is down to injuries though. If - and it's a big if - he can get a run of games injury free and Rodgers can get his confidence up then there is definitely a very good player in there.

Who said that?

He has "undoubted talent" yet the majority on here would happily never see him play again for Celtic. I guess the past 3 or 4 years of incompetence were down to Lennon and Deila and now we have a top class manager he'll be the one to finally unearth wee Jamesy's potential. He's the only 25 year old I've ever known who's still all potential.

If you agree he has undoubted talent why did you feel the need to ridicule it? If he didn't have talent then I'd say to get rid asap. He does though - that has never been the issue. It is a lack confidence on the back of not playing a run of games through injury. If (and I agree it's a big if) he can get fully fit then I see no reason why Rodgers shouldn't at least be given an opportunity to see if he can get the best out of him.

This is 100% his last chance. Hopefully he can get a good preseason and can hit some good form for the qualifiers. That said, if BR is looking at the likes of sinclair, nathan dyer etc, then JF will likely move on

He is potentially worth a lot more if we allow Rodgers some time to work with him. Plus - I'm guessing if he does go that he'll be happy to see out the last six months and leave on a free.

I don't agree. If he had "undoubted talent" then the majority of this board would be on his side instead of on his case.

He looked promising about 6 years ago when he burst onto the scene. He hasn't developed as well as we'd have hoped and now offers too little to the side to warrant new contracts and regular games.

Like I say, he's 25 in under 2 weeks and we're still talking about his potential.
