Your point was that speed alone won't get you a career in the EPL. I think Walcott disproves that theory.
If you think that the only thing that gets Walcott a game is speed, then by that logic Forrest could play for Arsenal?

They're both quick but that's where the similarities end.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepisn't too often.
Exactly. Fast might get you a career up here. It won't in the EPL.
Prize Exhibit M'Lord, I give you Theo Walcott.
Aaron Lennon seems to be doing ok too.

Forrest will do a good job for the likes of Norwich because their manager tends to play his pacy right wingers on the right wing.
He’s still fast enough to give most left backs a hard time.
But against right backs he mostly has to cut inside, where there is a danger of giving up possession and sparking an opposition counter attack.
I can’t understand the venom towards a young player who has had a hard time with injuries and is having his career wrecked by our current clown of a “tactical genius” manager.

Thanks for Karagandy, James.
My worry is what will they replace him with? This board will not part with the cash for any decent replacement, previous form states we'll end up with someone worse.

We have a number of players who can play in his position. That's where all the chat of trimming the squad has came from, he won't even need replaced.

The reason Forrest gets stick is because he very very very rarely puts in 100% effort and that should be the minimum we expect from celtic players. As I've said numerous times Forrest sums up everything that's wrong with celtic at the moment

GMS has double his goals and assists this season (4 goals and 6 assists) and he's been decent to pish since the start of the season.

I think we'll be fine.

You know Neil played him on the left don't you?
Some of Forrests best games have been on the left and cutting in.

Trying to blame Ronny for Forrests issues is effing ridiculous

Lennon got far more out of Forrest, despite his injury problems, than Deila ever has.

Yip he did.
He also played him on the left more than Ronny has.

I don't think I've ever denied that Lennon played him on the 'wrong' side :suspect: , although I seem to remember that the wide players would switch wings during games too.

I've said (on the Deila thread?) that I don't like the opposite wings formation - it was dull viewing under Strachan and I didn't enjoy it under Lennon and it's worse now under Deila as he has the full backs so far up the pitch in support that we're left exposed at the back.

I'm not sure any of that negates my point: that Lennon got far more out of Forrest than Deila has, wherever he has played.
