Good news.

He'll probably be another one who'll look back in a few years time and regret turning down offers to stay but to be honest I think it's what he needs as much as we need to get rid. He's not pushed on since looking promising in first couple of years.

As I've said earlier in this thread, a player that desperately needs a new challenge. Was stagnating here at Celtic. Has not become the player, many of us thought he might and he is going nowhere fast. Is his contract at an end or does he have one year left ?

Disappointed in how things have turned out for Forrest. Lennon got the best out of him but he's not looked half the player since.

Dumbfounded that the great Lawwell has let a 24 year old first team player run down his contract. He (and Mulgrew) should have been punted in the summer.
He had a couple of seasons where he only played 16 games iirc. Poor injury record and never came close to fulfilling his potential. At one point I was expecting him to end up at McGeady or Maloney level after a few seasons in the first team but he never really seemed to improve.

I can say, in all honesty, that I am not bothered in the slightest about his departure. To add to that, it wouldn't bother me if he were to stay either.

According to STV, his contract is until the end of 2016.

Glad he's not signing a new contract, it would be an utter waste of our limited resources to pay him a wage for another 4 years, especially if, as per Ronny, it was going to be a significant wage.

Now cut the rest of the deadwood loose too, Commons, Mulgrew, Lustig, Ciftci, Stokes, Cole, Ambrose, Johansen and even Brown if he doesn't turn his form and effort around soon. Lets go with young, hungry, energetic footballers. Lor knows we have enough of them. Need to root out this malaise and apathy amongst the senior players.
Commons and Brown deadwood? Very good

Judging by Ronny's comments in that article, I doubt we'll see him again. He'll be punted in the summer. Good luck to him but unless he improves his attitude, he'll go nowhere but downhill.

Not the first time a player's had his turned by a new agent.
I like Forrest, fit, motivated and played on the right he's an asset but I doubt we'll see him motivated or on the right now :)

Take what we can get in the summer with a decent sell on clause just in case but I think he's probably at the peak of his career and just doesn't realise it.

Should've cut our losses on him a couple of years back when teams were apparently interested in him (Everton/Spurs IIRC)

This guy has never reached any kind of contribution level similar to that of Maloney or McGeady by this age and I think its fair to say even Callum McGregor has out shone him since becoming a first team regular.

When we signed Roberts on an 18 month loan, then I suspected that was the end for Forrest. PR was not going to come up here to play in the reserves for 18 months. So it was either GMS or Forrest that was likely to get punted and with Forrest's contract situation I thought it might be him for the offski.

As mentioned earlier, his career really hasn't progressed and a new club I think is best for all concerned.

Just another naturally talented Scottish footballer with the world at his feet. Turn up to training, run about a wee bit, pick up a massive paycheque, get yer boaby oot, repeat for 15 years, lament, the end.

He’s a right winger.
When he’s played there he looks good.
He has the pace to go past most left backs.
Unfortunately, like Armstrong, his confidence is being destroyed by playing him on the left, where defenders know he has to cut inside.
He did well on the right against St Johnstone away.
He looked our most promising player in the first half against Kilmarnock at home.
Deila switched him and he faded. It ended 0-0.
With the right manager, Forrest could be a very effective player.

Well, I disagree. His biggest problem is that he´s a bad finisher, not that he´s played out of position. From the left he gets into a good scoring position 3-4 times in every match. Don´t see how playing him on the right would make him more effective.
On the left he has to cut in and shoots. On the right he hits the byline and crosses. The problem is its the final ball that lets him down on either side. More so when he's on the left as his shootings worse than his crossing and he cuts in and runs into one of the opposing CMs usually.

I've defending Forrest pretty much always as when he's on form he's great, but he is another one who has either regressed or chucked it the past 2 months. Put him back wide right and see if he can regain some consistency. If not don't renew his contract.

Also his performance against EK was an embarrassment.
