The only thing that's good about Forrest is that he is with us and not against us. Like he's poor but imagine him running at Lustig or Izzy he would look a class player.
Nah.
There's a wee nugget of a point in there.

Niall McGinn immediately springs to mind. Class? Nah, that's too strong a word. However he'd be amongst the top ten players in the SPL not employed by Celtic if he'd to leave.
If Forrest fails to cause East Kilbride problems I don't think we'd have anything to worry about.

It is interesting how many players, even youth players who were his peers, suggested that James was 'the worst trainer' at the club in the short Celtic T.V. profiles. He has failed to progress from the youngster who burst on to the scene a few years back, and comments like that might suggest that he is part of the reason. His future, not just as a Celtic player but as someone who might have made a significant contribution to Scottish Football lies in his own hands. He would do well to look at Lee Griffiths and take him as a role model.

Nial McGinn may or not be a better player than JF but at least McGinn looks as if he's interested in what's going on in the games he plays in...JF looks as if he couldn't give a monkeys!!

Jameson gives defenders something to think about with his pace. And the size of his neck. Joking apart, a good manager should be able to get double out of James

It took the man in your avatar a hand-ball to cause EK problems. Not the best example to use.

McGinn is a far more influential player for Ab erdeen than Forrest is for us.
That was my point.

By and large, McGinn was rather average with us, to put it nicely. I think Forrest would be an influential player for any team in the SPL not named Celtic. It's all football math anyway.

What does " the worst trainer " really mean Lachie. Was he not performing the drills fitness routines etc.
If other players know he was the worst trainer, didn't Celtics management team know ? or did they just abdicate their responsibilities
and let upcoming talent do their own thing. Why do they bother with the term development squad.
It looks like it is not going to work out for the club or this promising talent.
Pretty poor show from the club and the player will get what he deserves.

I agree with you, but it is true that you can go through the motions or you can be fully committed. Apparently Kieron Tierney trains like Brown - he cannot get enough. I am always surprised at what appears to be a lack of intensity when they show video of the training drills. I remember reading an article by the English Rugby coach who was taken aback at the intensity and pace at which Bayern Munich train. WGS said the same of Aussie League teams that he watched when he was on sabbatical before joining Celtic. Obviously we don't see them every day but it appears to me that the harder you work and practise the better you become.

How many of these young talents get what appears to be the golden ticket and then go the way of Augustus Gloop?

Along with Commons and Mulgrew, he'll be feeling his time has gone at Celtic. And he is probably right.

I've always thought we gave up too early on Nial McGinn. I think he would have developed into a useful squad player at least, if not a regular. Would be more useful than Armstrong, and a possible back-up to Griffiths.

Sometimes it's good for everyone involved and with those three it's becoming increasingly obvious that that's the case.

Worst thing is that we won't get any money for any of them.
Bonustastic Peter, great squad management right there.
Get rid of this 3 for nothing & Boerighter too. Might get money for Ambrose, but we'll run his contract down too.
