Can't say I agree that playing with 20 year olds is the best place for a 13 year old to develop. Odd decision IMO.
This. Fair play to him getting the chance though, must be a decent prospect.
You know they are not all 20 right? He replaced a 16 year old.

To be honest, I can't see the problem in playing him if he has the standard required to play at the lvl it doesn't matter how old he is

There is no reason to to keep him playing with and against players that he is vastly superior to. He looks to have killed the kids at his age, no idea on what lvl the U15-U17 are playing at and if he has been playing with team at times, but if the management teams feels that it will develop him to put him into the development side, the fine by me. Playing that 8-10 min most likely will have learned him more than running the show for a full 90 min at his own age group.

At least blows away the myth that we pick young players solely on their size.

There's supposed to be a kid called Paul Kennedy who's pretty good - he's at school with my nephew (15/16ish). Anyone seen him play/know what prospects he might have?

Like, probably, most, I have only seen him in video. I have no idea how good he really is, or how good he can become.

I'm not a football coach, but seeing him, at 13, playing at that level, sits uncomfortable with me. Not just for football reasons, but the pressure and the expectations that will put on a wee boy.

I really wish him well and hope he achieves all he can be, and I hope someone with his best interests is guiding him.

He doesn't need to look to far back in the history of young Celtic players, to see how wrong it can go for someone!
He doesn't need to look far to see how right it can go.

Apparently played with the U16 on Sunday and got MOTM.
We need to remember that a lot of the development squad are away on international duty, if they weren't then Dembele wouldn't have got a game last night. Young McGrath who's 15 I think, got 20mins as well.
I would have been a great experience for them last night and will strengthen our case in trying to keep hold our best young players.

Good to see the glass half empty mob are out in force over this young lad already

If hes good enough and there was a fair few players unavailable then don't really see what the big deal is. If hes the real deal then he could well be on the fringes of the first team in 3 years or so anyway

Because when he turns 16 the likes of Chelsea/man city can buy him a house and pay him £10000+ a week. For his development he would be better staying with us and getting champions league experience rather than playing in Chelsea youths but money talks.

He should be presented with the short story of Islam Feruz and nothing more should need to be said about where his development should take place.
