Very high hopes for Joe Thomson, I think O'Connell is a decent player, always tries to play out from the back but badly lacking pace which I think will be a major drawback for him,
You'd think they'd identify that and move him further forward into a holding midfield role. He's very good on the ball and a decent defender, but his pace won't be exposed as badly in the 'Bitton' role.

It's because the two in front of him are miles better than him. You don't throw a CH in when the natural midfielders have so much more to their games.
Think you're over stating him passing ability anyway.

How is Calvin Miller Developing, is he still the prospect as highlighted a few years back?

Anyone watched Tierney at left back. Is he capable of stepping up for a few games this season?

Read Stevie Frail's comments about him playing on the left at Raith.

This could be good news for us going forward. Did we win the under 19 league last season?

Edit. I see Aberdeen won it so they will qualify via domestic champions route. Hopefully we qualify now for Champions League and our boys get in

Under 17s currently 2-3 down to a very strong Arsenal side in South African tourney....coming back from 0-2 to 2-2 but now lost a penalty

Under 14s into the semi-final of the Youdan Trophy in Sheffield now face Sevco tomorrow, other semi is Charlton v Brentford (Celtic drew 1-1 v Charlton & Sevco drew 2-2 v Brentford)

Pleased with this but is there still UEFA youth league for participants in champions league? That was only available to players 18 years old and younger I think, so a lot of our regular development squad couldn't participate when we were last in it a couple of years ago. It might be that we have the capacity (a qualify!) to play in both

How long has the link up with St Ninians been in place? About five or six years? Shouldn't we be seeing an improvement in the standard of youth players coming through now?

Yes there is.

The UEFA Youth League has expanded this year and will have the participants of the Champions League plus a separate stage with domestic youth league winners which I think is Aberdeen in Scotland.

Nesbitt scored a hattrick. Surely see him on the bench at some point early in the season?

I mind being really excited at seeing a young Charlie Nicholas come through from the reserves. This boy Nesbitt is just as good imo
