Didn't mcgeady have an agent? Or was that always his dadd?
Dunno about his agent/dad but heard that his mum came up to the ground to complain about the lack of suspension of Boruc after he hooked mcgeady in training. Complained to Lawwell apparently. This was after mcgeady had been suspended by the club a couple of months before for swearing at WGS. I heard that WGS sympathised but felt he couldn't rely on Mark Brown to deputise whilst the league was so close And some people still wonder why the arse fell out of our season that year?

CELTIC have beaten off competition from five Barclays Premier League clubs to land one of Scottish football’s most promising young strikers.
Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle United, Southampton and Stoke City were all keen to land Scotland Under-15 internationalist Kieran McGrath.
However, the Coatbridge youngster, whose father Hugh was on the books at Parkhead as a boy, opted to join the club he supports.
It is the fourth year in a row the Glasgow giants had attempted to land the 14-year-old, who has signed a two year deal, and they have finally got their man.
Elliott Fillingham, the Head of Youth at McGrath’s representatives ViolaFC, revealed why the centre forward had opted to go to the Scottish champions.
He said: “Celtic offer a compelling development programme for Kieran with the additional hours of practice and coaching at their school initiative at St Ninian’s.
“The number of international tournaments and the additional exposure that comes with playing for a massive club like Celtic will help Kieran reach the next level in his career.”
McGrath is one of only two age-group players in Scotland who are sponsored by adidas – the other is 18-year-old Celtic winger Aiden Nesbitt.
The Braidhurst High pupil has played for Hibs for the last seven years and scored five goals in a match against Newcastle United last season.
He said: "I’m absolutely delighted to sign for Celtic and I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my career. Celtic was the right club for me and it’s a dream come true”
His representative John Viola said: “Kieran has got fantastic potential - so much so that a number of Premier League clubs have contacted me with a view to doing business but his first and only choice was Celtic.
“We are really looking forward to Kieran progressing towards playing for the first team”
i know a good few 15 year olds etc have had sponsorships in the past but cant think of many that had an agent at that age! Good player , hope he stays grounded. Very poor taste in my opinion to have a young boy splattered in the papers
The boy looks to be getting used as an advert for the agency . Disappointed that our head of youth has 1. allowed this to happen and 2 got involved in the photo. Surely his job should be to reinforce to the boy that he's only on the first rung of a very big ladder to the Celtic first team

Anyone going to the Turriff friendly today?
Teams/updates would be good. Not sure if Celtic Twitter is covering it

Some Little League Baseball players are like megastars in the States and they are younger.

Asked this in the eibar thread but maybe better here - I see tierney/Lindsay have been in the squad for a few of these preseason games. Are they real prospects?

Lindsay doesn't look anything special whenever I've seen him but has been a regular at development squad level for 2/3 years

raith rovers game tonight
- Quote:
-
Saidy Janko will be in the Celtic development side that plays Raith Rovers tonight. The former Manchester United defender joined Celtic during the close season and featured in the top team matches against Real Sociedad and Eibar. Rather than travel to Iceland with the first team Ronny Deila has decided to give the 19-year-old a starting place in the side to face Raith Rovers in a match in which the home club will rename the main stand at Starks Park in honour of former chairman Turnbull Hutton. Kieran Tierney and Jamie Lindsay will return to the development squad after featuring against Eibar with Stevie Frail looking forward to the clash following Saturday’s 2-1 win over Turriff United. “We had a good test last week against Morton and we will get another tough game against Raith,” the Celtic coach admitted. “It’s another step towards fitness for the new season and we know that Raith will be ready for the match. “They are a well established Championship side with good players and a good set up, their season starts on Saturday and they’ll want to go into that on the back of a win. “We’ve had a good varied pre-season so far taking on different types of matches. Playing against Levante was a great experience, they changed their full team at half-time and put out two first XI’s but we acquitted ourselves well. “Hopefully we’ll have u-19 Champions League matches to look forward to as well as our domestic fixtures and the Premier League International Cup. “There’ll be a lot of demands made of the players and 90 minutes against a good Raith Rovers side will stand everyone in good stead for the season ahead.” Kick off tonight is at 7.45 with admission at Ł10 adults, Ł5 concessions CLICK HERE for more details Read more at http://videocelts.com/2015/07/blogs/younghoops/janko-included-in-celtic-squad-for-raith-rovers#OvH7SfKd8tVUoCcC.99

Deila seems to rate Tierney. Not convinced he's a natural left back. Lindsay doesn't look anything special whenever I've seen him but has been a regular at development squad level for 2/3 years I think Lindsay has really come on in the last year. Broony has been working with him and it seems to have helped. Did well when he came on against Eibar. He has good composure on the ball, passes well and chipped in with a few goals last season. Could provide decent cover in central midfield domestically. Would be a bit of a stretch to throw him in for Europe. Tierney is a wide player who has been tried at left back due to our lack of cover. Has good ability going forward and good delivery.

Anyone know where Development squad games will be played this year? Had heard something about St Mirren's stadium - that would be alright. I enjoyed going when the games were at Firhill.

Cappielow, St Mirren Park and also Lennoxtown for Closed Doors games, think we played at another ground as well last season for a home game - depends when the fixtures land if other stadiums are in use

Very high hopes for Joe Thomson, I think O'Connell is a decent player, always tries to play out from the back but badly lacking pace which I think will be a major drawback for him,
