Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
McMullan worked his socks off as usual, but the position he was in involves bringing other players into play. He didn't achieve that nearly enough. He is really a winger, but even his attempts to beat his man invariably failed. It's a pity as he always puts a shift in, but he maybe needs more time out on loan.
Liked the look of Donnelly. Different option and looks a threat.
Looked very good but I haven't seen him mentioned too often in this thread.

Not sure if he normally plays midfield or upfront? :ponder:

Looked like a natural striker to me but that's the first time I've seen him so ? ?

Have only seen him 3 times and he hasn't played up top. Not sure why, but he certainly has something to offer playing in the hole. Seems to have a good picture of what is going on around him and has a very good touch. Has a knack of beating players and your not sure quite how!

I thought wee McMullan looked dangerous all night, great movement, and a good football brain, his dummy to Donnelly to set up nesbitt was sublime.it shows the benefit of going out on loan, some great football from the youths and some good individual performances, but overall a great team performance.nesbitt`s goals were top drawer

The 3 lads mentiioned earlier McMullan - Donnelly & Nisbett have all been with the club for at least 9/10 years while the Sevco keeper who looked dodgy all night Liam Kelly, we tried hard to sign him a couple of years ago...won them the cup last year on Pens v Hearts. But he doesn't appear to have kicked on in recent season's.

The other thread was closed.

I know Jordan Hart left last season. Doesn't anyone know who else has left (permanently)? The website is pretty unreliable with their squad lists

thought bailly might have got a game in goal tonight

AN EXPERIENCED attacking line will spearhead a Celtic XI tonight as the Bhoys take on Morton in a testimonial match at Cappielow Park.

Strikers Stefan Scepovic and Anthony Stokes will start up front and wide-left respectively as the Hoops make the short journey west to take on the League One champions in a match organised to recognise the dedication of Morton’s kit man, Andy Bryan, who has given 40 years of solid service to the club.

An array of youthful talent make up the rest of the team behind the two senior strikers including a clutch of Celtic Academy graduates from Stevie Frail’s Development Squad who broke through on to the first-team scene last season.

Leo Fasan, Eoghan O’Connell and Kieran Tierney are among a trio of familiar names who will start for the Bhoys in tonight’s game alongside a group of young Hoops prospects.

Tonight’s match will kick-off at 7.30pm and tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and £13 for parent and child.

There will be live Twitter updates via @Celticfc and a match report online following the conclusion of the game.

CELTIC (4-2-3-1) Fasan; Wardrop, O’Connell, Breslin, Tierney; Thomson, Lindsay; Nesbitt, Donnelly, Stokes; Scepovic
Subs: McCart, McCabe, Murray, Hill, Hendry, McIlduff, Miller

CELTIC have beaten off competition from five Barclays Premier League clubs to land one of Scottish football’s most promising young strikers.

Aston Villa, Everton, Newcastle United, Southampton and Stoke City were all keen to land Scotland Under-15 internationalist Kieran McGrath.

However, the Coatbridge youngster, whose father Hugh was on the books at Parkhead as a boy, opted to join the club he supports.

It is the fourth year in a row the Glasgow giants had attempted to land the 14-year-old, who has signed a two year deal, and they have finally got their man.

Elliott Fillingham, the Head of Youth at McGrath’s representatives ViolaFC, revealed why the centre forward had opted to go to the Scottish champions.

He said: “Celtic offer a compelling development programme for Kieran with the additional hours of practice and coaching at their school initiative at St Ninian’s.

“The number of international tournaments and the additional exposure that comes with playing for a massive club like Celtic will help Kieran reach the next level in his career.”

McGrath is one of only two age-group players in Scotland who are sponsored by adidas – the other is 18-year-old Celtic winger Aiden Nesbitt.

The Braidhurst High pupil has played for Hibs for the last seven years and scored five goals in a match against Newcastle United last season.

He said: "I’m absolutely delighted to sign for Celtic and I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my career. Celtic was the right club for me and it’s a dream come true”

His representative John Viola said: “Kieran has got fantastic potential - so much so that a number of Premier League clubs have contacted me with a view to doing business but his first and only choice was Celtic.

“We are really looking forward to Kieran progressing towards playing for the first team”

i know a good few 15 year olds etc have had sponsorships in the past but cant think of many that had an agent at that age!

I've known a PE teacher who attempted to act as an agent for an u15s player as soon as Chelsea showed interest.

Good luck to the young lad - Good to see we finally got him, hopefully we can keep a hold of him for a few years

Dunno about his agent/dad but heard that his mum came up to the ground to complain about the lack of suspension of Boruc after he hooked mcgeady in training.

Complained to Lawwell apparently. This was after mcgeady had been suspended by the club a couple of months before for swearing at WGS. I heard that WGS sympathised but felt he couldn't rely on Mark Brown to deputise whilst the league was so close

He had a a boot deal at 14, also with Adidas. Pretty sure he never had an agent.
