Someone mentioned this a few pages back, but it would be great to get a summary/write up of the really good prospects at our youth levels. Wasn't there a guy a few years ago (Celtic Youths or something?) that ran a page with updates? Shame he's not doing it anymore...

Janice seems to go along to a lot of the games.

I keep track of what players play to get an idea of what positions they play so that I have a clue where they might feature for the top team (albeit a lot of them seem to get tried at left back regardless of whether that is their position or not!). Don't watch enough of the games back on Celtic TV to get much of an idea

I apologise for being a bit of a technophobe, but can somebody explain about this match being on you tube tonight? I haven't watched anything live on you tube before and would like help on the process.
It's a live broadcast, match starts at 7.30pm so expect the show to start about 5 mins before that, then just sit back and watch the Bhoys batter those bastards.

Jock Stein used to arrange many "friendlies" in the course of a season against lower league sides to develop reserve type players, trialist's, and some coming back from injury or those that he wanted to drop or freshen up, eg try in a new position.

Is there anything in the rules preventing us adopting a similar idea and would it be better I than the current development league set up.

Jock had tried to formalise this with the SFA who always refused his attempts. In particular from the like of Partick who feared a drop in income. The clubs we played against in those days readily accepted the challenge and income we brought to their game.

It is a bit similar to the restructure proposals put forward several years ago i.e. colt teams but less formalised. In that we would be in the bottom league but could never be promoted. However, this suggestion HS the merit that gems would not be restricted to the bottom tier.

Not really sure how that's different from current development league or what we did a couple of years ago with frienies v English teams

Thanks. I'll go out and get the refreshments then wait for the mayhem to begin.

I know McMullan has, but have Nesbitt and Donnelly been with Celtic for long and for anyone who watches the development team are they regarded as the best prospects?

Sure I've read people praising Nesbitt before on here. :ponder:

Both were impressive. McMullan and Tierney were below par.

Do you mean McMullan was below par tonight? :ponder: Eff me he must be some player.

How long have Nesbitt and Donnelly been with us? Are they normally standouts?

nesbitt pretty much always is one to look out for. still early for him with regards to first team but definitely one of our best prospects with henderson, thomson and miller. donnelly has kicked on a lot in the last few months after a loan spell at east stirling

both have been here a good few years so im assuming they came through the ranks early doors

McMullan worked his socks off as usual, but the position he was in involves bringing other players into play. He didn't achieve that nearly enough. He is really a winger, but even his attempts to beat his man invariably failed. It's a pity as he always puts a shift in, but he maybe needs more time out on loan.

Cheers mate. Is Nesbitt still one of the youngest ones? Sorry for the constant questions?

Liked the look of Donnelly. Different option and looks a threat.

It's all about opinions but I disagree totally. I didn't watch the full game but he was involved in most of the good stuff we produced. The commentator mentioned it and the Celtic website also praises him highly.

His dummy for the 4th goal was sublime.
