I saw a few highlights of him. I don't know what Scotland have in their youth ranks but they'd want to be effing worldies because Harper is a player.
Apparently Spain were on the phone 24 hours after he wasn't selected to see if he'd be interested in representing them. Wouldn't blame the lad
If he's 19 and hasn't played a game for Real Madrid reserves yet he's unlikely to be good enough to get anywhere near a game for Spain.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep

I would guess that there are plenty of Spanish 19 year olds who have played a good few first team games in la Liga never mind reserve games.
I think this is probably all getting a bit hyped up and if he was exceptional with a realistic chance of making it at such a high level he'd have been picked for scotland.

Won the quarter final of the Scottish youth cup last night.

Nesbitt and Tierney played again. As did McManus.

From the Boys that watch the development squad, which players do you think have a chance of making it into the first team set up?

I'd expect Joe Thomson to get a run out before the end of the season - fully deserved, hopefully Tierney can get back to the level he was at prior to his injury.

Best wishes to the squads in Holland & Ireland today for tournaments.

Joe Thomson for me as well
The boy covers some amount of ground, has good timing coming into the box, takes a lot of the free kicks and corners.
Reminds me a lot of Johansen and plays in that position as well.

Lindsay looks a proper central midfielder. Happy to take possession in tight situations and a good passer of the ball. Scoring goals as well which is a bonus. Tierney would be the other. Hopefully he can be moulded into a left back as he has great delivery.

It's all about what type of player you like but Joe Thomson for me as he has consistently performed in a number of positions as has Kieran Tierney on the left both great prospects who link up well together in an attacking formation.

Jamie Linday has improved this season but must question himself on why he allowed Liam Henderson to bypass him given Hendo is 1 or 2 years his junior. I also think Connor McManus long term injury gave Lindsay a 2nd chance which he has taken.

Where I am concerned is that we don't have any defensive or striking prospects in development squad from games I have seen this season.

Fully agree Janice.....we relied too heavily on Paul McMullen although previous rumours about the young Killie striker now with Dundee Utd and also an Aberdeen striker would indicate the problem is now being addressed.

With the Govan red sox in such disarray I would really expect Celtic to ramp up the pressure and poach a player or two from them as well Sam Jamieson is excellent and they have a couple more we could use to improve the side. One look at how well Joe Thomson has settled and pushed on should show the leap is well worth taking.

Agree about Jamie Lindsay, he looked out his depth but has certainly pushed on this season and played very well.
The problem for him is that there are younger players around him who (to me anyway) look better such as McManus.

Can't believe I've forgot about Tierney, hopefully he can play the season out with the development team and try and kick on to the first team during preseason. Need to get him settled in a position now and let him gain a bit of form though.

I also agree about up front but McGrath is just back so in interested to see how he gets on as well.

As I said on my previous post, Joe Thomson is the one for me and think Ronny will give him a run out (if his good form continues) before the end of the season.

Just seen pics from our game v Saints. Didn't realise Broony coaches them. Well the pics had him on the touchline like Ronny, under the caption "U20 coach". Is this an ad hoc thing? Part time when time allows? Or a one off? So many questions.
