The full build up to our second was spellbinding, it was there for the winning, pity.

I thought we played well, albeit our normally assured defence was posted missing due to lack of concentration, poor positioning or inability to read the play. But overall we matched them and had we stuck the 2nd penalty away or the one off the underside of the bar I think we would have won. Plenty for the youth coaches to work on though, Mikey Johnstone has been out injured for a while, still short of match sharpness, never a good idea to let the same player take 2 pens for me. Promising though and I'd like to think we can step up considerably from this experience....Moussa Diaby was head & shoulder above anyone else on the pitch, no wonder both Juve and Man City have been tracking him for 2 years now...need to step up our scouting too....players are out there, we need to think and act smarter than everyone else.

sorry if this has been discussed already. I was reading that sevco's Development Team will not play in the Scottish league but will play a schedule of teams from all over Europe and the UK. They just lost to Brighton this week 2-1. I wonder what people think of this and if Celtic should also do the same.

Celtic have been doing this for years. Whether it's the UEFA Youth League (our U20s play the youth teams from our CL opponnents), the Nextgen series or the Premier League International Cup, we've had teams play against a number of teams from throughout the rest of the UK and Europe for a number of years, al while being able to field a team in the domestic competitions.

The big difference between what we do and what Sevco are doing is that our youngsters will actually play in competitive games. I doubt playing meaningless friendlies will do much to aid the development of the Sevco youth.

We already get a good mix. we have the competitive u20 league, the premier league cup which we have games coming up and the UYL. giving the players different kind of challenges. Sevco are doing what they are doing because they cannot get access to the UYL or the PLC.

Their right back and captain was excellent as well. Solid and would run all day.
