If the u14s won that competition by beating Ajax it was some turn around as they got beat 5-1 in the group game between them.

Great turnaround fae bhoys. By beating Ajax in final they beat every team they played. FC Twente, SV Epe, FC Tokyo, Anderlecht and Ajax.

CELTIC’S Under-14 squad enjoyed a great European triumph over the Easter weekend as they won the prestigious Marc Overmars Tournament in Epe, Holland, beating Ajax in the final.

The Hoops kicked off the tournament with a 3-0 win over Dutch side, FC Twente, which was followed by a 1-0 victory against FC Tokyo. Celtic then beat local side SV Epe 3-0 to qualify for the next stage of the tournament, making their only defeat of the tournament, in the final group match against Ajax, purely academic.

In the next stage, the Hoops beat Anderlecht 1-0 following a 1-1 draw with FC Toyko in reach the final where they faced Ajax

And it was Celtic who triumphed against a strong Ajax side who had previously beaten them in the group stages, the young Hoops winning 2-1 to win the trophy, proudly lifted by Liam Morrison.

Throughout the tournament the boys were a credit to the Club. Goalkeeper, Vincent Angelini, was awarded Goalkeeper of the Tournament while Karamoko Dembele was named Player of the Tournament.

Coaches Mark McNally and Stevie Hamilton were delighted with the boys throughout the trip and feel the experience of playing against top-class clubs will hold the boys in good stead for the future.

got as far as adding the channel. It has the information bar along the bottom but message reads 'this programme is not available' across the screen. Any of my Irish based compatriots found a way around this. I see Take the HIgh road is on at 4.30pm. This is a must see for old Glaswegian in exile. :) Sorry for sidetracking, but would love to watch the youth match on Thursday.

According to the Ajax twitter we kicked everything that moved and had two men sent off in the final. Ajax beat us 5-1 in the qualifiers so obviously our coaches had our players wound up for the final.

I can imagine the Ajax coaches shaking their heads thinking no wonder our players struggle to make the grade between 17-20 if that's what we do at under 14.

was it not one ajax player sent off and one from ours?

having watched some of our youth sides in the past year and the amount of small technical players on show i certainly wouldnt be reading anything into that or jumping to conclusions about why our youngsters struggle to make the grade.

The 2017 Scottish FA Youth Cup Final between Celtic and Rangers will be streamed live on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter next week.

The final of Scotland’s premier youth tournament is set to take place at Hampden Park on Wednesday, 26 April and will be available to watch FREE on the Scottish Cup YouTube channel, the Scottish Cup Facebook page and the Scottish FA Twitter account.

Radio Clyde’s Gordon Duncan will commentate on the match alongside Scottish Sun journalist Kenny Millar.

Following discussions between the Scottish FA, Celtic, Rangers and Police Scotland, it has been jointly agreed that tickets for the match will not go on general sale.

Please note this means that tickets will not be available to buy at the stadium on match day.

Both clubs will distribute an allocation of tickets through their community and academy programmes, after the success of a similar approach when Celtic and Rangers met in the 2015 showpiece final.

On that occasion Celtic ran out 5-2 winners with Aidan Nesbitt scoring a hat trick.

Last year Motherwell lifted the trophy, defeating Hearts 5-2.

I believe it was two from ourselves but I might be wrong.

I'm not really jumping to conclusions. Our boys ground out a win after getting thrashed earlier on in the tournament. Well done, however is grinding out victories and kicking lumps out of the opposition to win a trophy the correct way to coach children? Its a bit of a rhetorical question because I'm sure will all have differing opinions and I suppose their is no "correct way".

there had to be a winner and it was us.

an ajax and celtic player were definitely sent off at the start off the final. dont know if we had anyone else sent off but not seen any other mention of it

how is that not jumping to conclusions when none of us have seen the games and you have us down as grinding out victories and kicking lumps out of opponents? especially when one of our skillful players was voted player of the tournament

I was sent a screenshot of an Ajax twitter account. I don't do twitter so I have no idea how official the twitter feed is. The guy that sent it to me has a son at our academy.

So, I'm not jumping to conclusions. I'm going by someones account of the game.

Is the person who wrote it any more impartial than the celtic one who said that getting beaten 5-1 in the preliminaries was meaningless? Everyone is partisan.

My point is that Celtics academy has a win at all cost attitudes. It could be argued whether this is a good thing or not. What cant be argued is the difference in the amount of exceptional players to come through the respective academies.

We are generally very competitive and successful at these types of tournaments at this age group. Again, my point is that in the grand scheme of things who really cares about a one-off tournament when there is a bigger goal for our academy players?

you said it was an ajax twitter account as if it was an official account slating celtic. now you wont even name the one that said it when it seems there has been no talk whatosover of celtic booting anyone off the park then jumped to all sorts of conclusions whilst moving the goal posts every post.

a couple of the very very few mentions of the final. would be a bit strange if this dutch guy watched us kick everything that moved and make no mention of it. not sure it would make for a spectacular final either
