I think Miller looked the most threatening and promising player in our Challenge Cup games.

Speaking to the Scotsman, Rodgers said:

I’ve had one player in here [at Celtic] and I hope he sees the light, because he is a] big, big talent.
A kid with massive
talent. Talent to play Champions League football and the agent wanted to know when he was getting a
professional contract. The kid was fat. I said: ‘What? You want to know that? I’ll tell you when’.
A kid who had all the tools, all the talent, but fat. Couldn’t run. Couldn’t last a game. Not eating right. Fish and chips all the time. So we’ve organised a plan for him, to sort him out. If he wants to do it.
But I don’t worry about it. It doesn’t break my heart because some other kid with less talent that
commits to it, will make it as a player. The key thing is the boy’s a talent but it is whether they want to devote their life to it.

Wonder who he's talking about :ponder:

Could it be Aitchison? Agent comes calling after his goal last season

The player will know who he is and the fact Rodgers has highlighted it to media is a huge kick up the arse to him.

No messing about by Brendan, will give youth a chance but they need to prove the deserve it and not just as a football player. I like it

I don't think it's fair to speculate on who it may be

The Dembele thing was a joke obviously :suspect:

A 3-0 loss at home to Dunfermline tonight. As mentioned before, I have my doubts about the club's development structures at present.

Can't comment of the efficacy of the current youth development system but I do know that winning or losing games or even league position has absolutely noting to do with how capable it is.

I agree this squad is missing something that previous squads had

We are pleased to announce that Celtic winger Aidan Nesbitt has today extended his development loan until the end of the current campaign.

The 19-year-old Scotland Under-21 cap joined on a temporary transfer from the Parkhead club in August and has made 11 starts, six substitute appearances and scored one goal to date.

With his initial loan set to expire today, manager Jim Duffy moved to keep the talented teenager at the club for the rest of the season, with Nesbitt penning his deal at Cappielow this afternoon.

Watched the development squad at Cappielow tonight.

Partick were by far the better side in the 1st half and were deservedly 2-0 up at halftime. 2nd half was all Celtic. 4 goals from Mikey Johnstone and a good strike from Mark Hill giving the young Hoops the comfortable victory.

Great shift up front from PJ Crossan - and Calvin Miller had a good 2nd half too.

Johnstone MOM.

May have to take some results into context in the second half of the season as half of the lads are out on loan.
