Top of Serie B will be about the same level as the better SPL teams.
At least.

I doubt any team outwith us could expect to beat a single top-half Serie B side.
Based on absolutely nothing.

Based on having seen the level of quality of our teams and watching Italian football every weekend. It's just an opinion, what is your's based on?

Is it not a lower level though so he should stick out and compete well.

Hope this is a stepping stone for him to go on to bigger and better things.
My mate is convinced we made a howler letting him go.

I’m not, but I wish the lad well and fair play choosing to give it a bash in Italy as well.
I think we let him go too early. Time will tell.

At an age where he needs to be playing though so there was a decision to be made for either party.

must be snowing all over Europe. Liam and Bari won't get their game vs Spezia in today due to snow and icy roads. Too bad for Bari as they have won 3 in a row in chasing a promotion spot.

btw, how does promotion work in Serie B, other than the top team getting automatic promotion?

At the end of the season, three teams are promoted to Serie A and four teams are relegated to the reformed Serie C (formerly Lega Pro Prima Divisione). The top two teams are automatically promoted. If the 3rd-placed team is 10 or more points ahead of the 4th-placed team, it is automatically promoted too, otherwise a playoff tournament determines the third team that will be ascending.

Liam is technically a very good player and will do well in Italy, he’ll end up in Seria A. I don’t think he was given enough of a chance by the management team or the fans.

Very difficult to judge, given that he was given precious little game time. Given the lack of competition in the SPFL in recent years, it would not have been a risk to give him more opportunities. Brave move going to Italy and I admire him for it.

We let him go too early, but we also left it too late to start playing him regularly.

I think there is a player there for sure, but timing is everything and he emerged at a time when we had too many ahead of him.

Given our centre midfield options, we simply couldn't keep him on. For the good of his career it wouldn't have been fair.

I hope he does well and expect we'll see him feature for Scotland in the future.

We can have no regrets. Likewise, he can have very few.

Maybe he meant one did, once (Lambert).
Archibald, Lambert, Jordan, Liam Miller, MacLeod. Even Davie Weir's career was improved by an extended spell in the US - while my 7a.m.workding may have been overly general, it wasn't hard to interpret I meant players that leave earlier in their career when a well-paid option in England is on but they leave the UK to develop as players from better coaching than they would receive in Scarrothorpe. That's not why Tony EFf-Up Watt want to Leuven FFS. Kris Boyd and Riordan never went where they did kicking 30 for the coaching. And McKinlay went to Switzerland when he was 33. How could you possibly say he was in the group I said would "develop" at 35? (I had to look that one up) That is being deliberately obtuse.
Collins and McInnes did ok did they not? Maybe clutching at straws, but I always heard good reports of Charlie Miller and Robbie Winters when they were in Norway?

Did booth not do reasonably ok in Holland after leaving Germany?? I'm sure he scored a winner in a dutch cup final against one of the biggeys (possibly Ajax). Has Barry Douglas developed well since leaving Dundee Utd? We were looking at him when he was in Poland.

Agree with you. But it's easy to romanticize over what might have been. Truth is, he was never going to get a regular run with the first team given the competition going in his position.

I wish him well.

Douglas is getting very good reviews for Wolves, involved in alot of goals.

Hopefully this is the making of Henderson, I disagree he wasn't given enough of a chance. BR saw him train day in, day out and thought he wasn't good enough, Delia let him go on loan when we were chasing a treble, we ended up throwing Tonev on in a SC semi while he was in Norway. He's a player I've liked alot since I first saw play that friendly tournament in Turkey but our managers have seen more of him than any of us. I'm glad he didn't end up at Hibs.

I think we all do.

He had rotten luck in the position he was competing in.
