Exceptionally talented as a footballer. Might not have the pace or power to make it with us.
Whit?

Exceptionally average.
I think he's got a great range of passing and very intelligent on the ball.
I've heard a few people say that based on his time at Hibs in the Championship.

At Hibs in the Championship.

At Hibs

In the Championship.

He's a good player. I'd even say a very good player by SPL standards.

But unfortunately for him not better than Brown, Rogic, N'Champ, Armstrong and now McGregor and probably Eboué if promise if fulfilled.

I'm really sorry he never made it with us, but sadly (for me anyway) we have to let him get a new club for the good of his career.

He'll sign for hibs or preferably someone in the English championship and earn quite a lot of money starring in a middle of the road team.

My brother in law is a hibs fan and he's always going on about hendo, if hendo were playing you'd be 2 up... whys hendo no playing? ...get hendo on the bench...I would have been happy to give him to hibs I can't see him breaking through at Celtic. I think he's trying to wind me up now says hendo should be first name on champions league squad!

He's still very young and once he gets game time somewhere again, maybe January, he'll go on and do a good job for someone.

I heard a rumour the club wanted him to extend his deal before going back out on loan to hibs and he refused.

He's a good player. I'd even say a very good player by SPL standards.

He's never shown that at any consistent basis at all at any time. It's guesswork to say if he could cut it in the big league.

He done reasonably well playing for Hibs in the Championship, that's all. His appearances for Celtic amount to cameos and in very few was he anything other than decent.

I think he's a lot better than we give him credit for, but we're relatively spoiled.

From midfield up we have got a very good team, and competition is particularly intense in the middle.

I think he'd do well in the second string in England, and become quite wealthy in the process.

I wish him well.

Yes, we have too many better players in midfield for him to figure to any extent. For a Hibs, Aberdeen or Hearts he would be outstanding.

I wish him well too. But he's also been part of quite a few non Brendan squads with lesser players, so lets not pretend.

Good luck to him elsewhere.

Considering retirement

He might not be good enough for our squad, but he's better than basically not playing at all for the next four months minimum. Last time he appears to have played a competitive game is on 1 March 2017! Hell of a lot of time for a 21 year old not to get game time.

You do wonder what has happened here, because it is unlike Celtic, particularly under Rodgers, to not have a pathway for a player who is so clearly out of the picture. Even if he is not part of the plans, the tendency has always been to fix up players with loans. Even Ciftci appears loanable!

I really doubt we were playing hardball.

My guess was that he fancies going back to Hibs but they didn't need/budget for him unless McGinn left them. He may rather hold out here for a year and join hibs for free next season rather than move down south on a longer contract.

That's pure guess work of course.

I would be down south like a shot. Run of the mill players are raking it in down there and if you put the effort in then you could be set up for life.

Think he must be in the "Don't know what to do with him" box. Clearly too good to bin, but is he a long term first team prospect? I don't think he is, otherwise he would have featured more. You could argue that if he doesn't play, we'll never know, but I believe that BR is an excellent judge of young talent and the fact that Liam is rarely in the team and we keep signing other young midfielders suggests that his future lies elsewhere.

Fair enough but we've been advocating that Armstrong and Roberts do exactly the opposite.

He clearly had an affinity with Hibs. He's worked with NL before. There are plenty who have done very well for themselves down south but plenty more who have not enjoyed it at all. There's a lot to be said for being contented even if you are earning less than you otherwise might.

Plenty of Hibs supporters who don't believe he would be a guaranteed starter with them now. I'm sure there are others who would think differently but the fact there's dubiety would suggest he's not as good as a lot on here would have you believe.

Good kid but needs to play football. And that will be somewhere else.

Was he even a regular for them when he played for them in the Championship?

He didn't start the cup final anyway.

As he is out of contract in the summer, if Hibs can afford him they should move for him them to give them a push in the run up to the end of the league.

He is a good footballer but a little light for me, he always seemed to get muscled of the ball too easily.

Good luck to him wherever he ends up.

Stubbs usually played with 4-4-2 with a midfield diamond. In last couple of games against Rangers he switched to 3-5-2 and genders was the one to drop out
