I wonder if he picked up an injury in the first half. Armstrong was sent out to warm up, stripped, but wearing a tracky top, looking like he was about to come on.

Couldn't see any obvious candidates at the time.

looked lost in the first half. No surprise he was subbed off. He needs to make more of the opportunities he gets.

It wasn't just that he looked lost, but that he lacked the energy and drive of recent performances.

I was pleased that BR took him off, and didn't just keep him on because we were winning.
He has to learn.

I just can't see what people see in him. He's slow, he's incredibly one footed.

I suppose you.could say he can see and execute the odd good pass. McGregor is better.
The 25yo mcgregor with premiership and European experience v the 20 yo Henderson? I'd expect him to be. It's Rodgers job to judge where Henderson will be later in his career but he's better than mcgregor was at 20

Callum McGregor is 23, not 25.

Point still stands, he's way more experienced than Henderson and it's not a fair comparison

Flawless you're absolutely at it with Henderson.

Your last post reads like a conversation I'd have with Keith Jackson if I met him pished in a bar.

As much as I think Henderson has done quite well, he is slow for a young man that plays in that position.
A burst of pace would put him into another level.

I've grown to like McGregor but what was he doing at 20? Was that when he was at Notts County or was it before then? If it's the latter he'd have been in the development squad...

Henderson at 20, has already won the league with the first team squad at Celtic and the Scottish Cup with Hibs whilst making a significant contribution in both games, scored at Firhill when we won the league in Lennon's final season and famously delivered 2 goals for Hibs to win the final against der hun.

I'm shocked at the amount of people writing a 20 year old academy player off, time is on his side and not only is he talented he has the right attitude, last 2 weeks he hasn't played well but he didn't hide, always wanted the ball which is very encouraging.

For what it's worth I think McGregor is more consistent but when Henderson is on it I think he offers more.

He was woeful yesterday. He has an eye for a pass but the rest of his game is lacking.

I know he's young and I really wanted him to do well but I just can't see it happening. There's nothing to his game that really stands out, certainly not in the way KT or Dembele or Roberts stand out, or how Forrest made an immediate impact at a similar age. He's unlikely to be more than a bit player at CP.

Apart from his goal the other week against St Johnstone with his weak foot of course.

That generally is an exception. He only uses his left foot to shoot, not very often. On several occasions he'll make pass harder by using his right rather than his left.

At 20 McGregor was in League One/Two playing for Notts County never having played for Celtic. Henderson is ahead of where McGregor was then. He does need more game time though.

Definitely a player in there.

:ffs:

Increadibly one footed player has kicked ball with other foot shocker!!

I don't really think there is an excuse for modern players being so one sided. I'm not saying they should be as two footed as say Lubo was but there are some players out there who are atrocious with their weaker foot. Very poor IMO

Woeful?

Don't be daft. He struggled to get into the game because Motherwell squeezed the middle and didn't let him get near the ball. By that reckoning Sinclair had a rotten game until about half way through the 2nd half as well then. McGregor plays way more vertically than Henderson and was able to pull their defence around a bit to create space whereas LH usually relies on his technical ability to get round those situations.

Thought he did better in his 45 than Armstrong did in his.

I think this guy could play a big roll in the march to ten.

I like the kid.
Also the best dead ball player at the club Griffiths aside.
