Young guy still only 20....seem to remember plenty of "experts" writing off Armstrong as a waste of money, now he is possibly captain material.

I'd be happy to see both Christie & Henderson get more opportunities in the next few months rather than give more game time to Bitton etc.
Armstrong at least looked like a footballer. He can use both feet. There were 5 occasions last night where Henderson could've played what would've been an easy pass with his left but instead used the outside of his right foot and effed it up. Hibs is his level.

Comments are harsh in my opinion. Thought he done reasonably well in a team that is not quite hitting it off at the moment.
Needs to work on his positional awareness ashe's willing to take the ball at any time and that can be his downfall at times.
A naive 20 year old, who'd a thunk it. Plenty of time for Rodgers to work with him.

After watching him in pre season games Rodgers decided to have him remain rather
than farm him out again. I would think that means he sees something there.
Shirking the tackle is unusual for him in any games I have watched him.
I think it was against Inter Milan pre season when they were pissed off at him for his quite heavy tackles.
I thought he played o.k. against the Jags but he definitely needs more game time if is to develop into decent squad player.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Did it a couple of times in second half. Going in side on then back turned like a wee feartie.
Not like him but he did twice that I can remember during the game - Played a few poor passes in the first half and from there I thought second half he tried to play safe when on the ball last night - Very little driving forward mainly sideways passing albeit keeping ball retention - Knows the clear out is coming and possibly didn't want to make arse of anything after the first half mistakes?
For all his faults of which there's plenty 'shirking tackles' isn't something that could be levelled at him. Very firm in the tackle and it's a big part of his game.

I missed the 2nd half yesterday so will stand corrected.

Edit: re-keeping it safe, there could be something in that is Rodgers went through the team at HT

I'm no fan of McGregor at all. He's got much more to his game than Henderson.

Don't normally disagree much with your take on football and McGregor may have a bit more to his game than Henderson but he really isn't very good at much of it - Slack passing and thus giving up possession probably the worst offender in the team at it, shots from outside the box instead of looking for his man when he can claerly see has already been closed down and blocked, kid on tackling, next to no backtracking - Watch him when we lose possession and the opposition break up the park he runs back and invariably he stops and watches from the edge of our box to see what happens.

Henderson may not have as much to his game but I am not sure McGregor is any better as a player.

Fwiw I hope we are soon at a level where they may be punted or at best fringe squad players as afaics they are SPL level at best.
Neither are any good to be honest CB. McGregor limited talents are better for me than Henderson limited talents.

I'd rather both are away, I certainly don't agree with initial exertion that Henderson was more talented than McGregor or Allan. Henderson is an extremely limited slow footballer who is getting a half free pass as he's came through the youths. If he played for Hibs or St Mirren we would be laughing at anyone who wanted us to sign him.

He is a football glacier.

Henderson is 3 years younger than McGregor and 5 years younger than Allan. Definitely has more potential than them. That's hardly saying much for him mind you.

I just don't rate McGregor - Thought he might possibly at best be a useful squad player for games like last night but now would rather he was away - I also want Allan away there is no real player in him.

I have never thought Henderson was any better than the other two - Others maybe have come up with that - He can put in a tackle McGregor and Allan can't but that isn't enough to warrant a shout at a place.

Rodgers wants two midfielders in before the CL qualifiers next season - I think Bitton will be punted so one of McGregor or Henderson may be kept - I would rather we had better and both were away but I have a feeling if he has to keep one of them temporarily it will be McGregor.

Part of the managers stated personal remits is to develop & bring through our own players.
I hope he continues to bring them through, it'll take a while but we need to stick with them & give them support.

Do we have 4 academy players for next years CL squad if say we do punt both McGregor and Henderson?

We are certainly need a clear out in midfield but I'd be very surprised if we are giving up on a 20 year old decent prospect who has another 18 months left on his contract.

i like mcgregor as a squad player and think he has a lot to offer.

wouldnt give up on henderson yet but he definitely needs games. if hes loaned out it needs to be a higher level than the championship this time

Prefer him to McGregor. Very good one touch player. Do think he's better further forward though. He was fine last night, not a motm performance but also far from "appalling".

Agree with all.

McGregor is the best of the 3 mentioned. None of the 3 good enough.

I rate Henderson highly and felt he did himself justice last night, apart from the last 5 minutes of the first half he rarely wasted a pass and he is such an intelligent reader of the game, there was a few times last night when we got caught in possession and he just slotted into the hole, easier said than done, might not look much but.it shows game awareness and concentrate, I like him and hope he gets a chance to establish himself here, there is absolutely no rush to get rid of him, always available for a pass, uses the ball well and never hides.
