He was excellent last night. Composed and assured on the ball and some nice link up play with Izzy/Commons. Hopefully RD gives him a run in the team, as it's merited.

Agree with the 'breath of fresh air' comments. For a midfield that's really struggled to unlock defences, Henderson's contribution last night was superb. I can't remember the last time watching a match on TV when I've been calling out so many 'well done', 'nice touch son...' type comments.

I trust that the backroom boys have been watching his development closely and easing him in gently after he burst onto the scene last year. A spell out of the first team has hopefully re-ignited his desire to do well and he certainly seized his opportunity.

Hopefully, he can and will kick on from here and realises his potential, although teams will shut him down a lot more than Killie did last night.

Played well, has that nice balance of skill and strength for a midfielder. He perhaps needs to work on fitness for full 90 minute shift but that will come and hopefully he will see more game time this season.

Agreed. And far more composure than McGregor.

Excellent for about 55 mins, seriously impressed by his passing and energy. He was cream crackered by the time he went off. Hope he gets his chance.

There was a point midway through the first half when he took an absolute clattering from a Killie midfielder, think it was Hamill(surprise surprise  ) and the wee man was straight back to his feet without complaining looking for the ball, then he went on to create a Celtic attack.

Much better than McGregor.
This.

Back heel for the Commons opportunity showed a player that plays with confidence.

McGregor, barring the European qualifiers, has not shown this at all this season.

That was a lovely move and I ended up losing count of the number of passes we had leading up to the shot on goal. Just wish Commons had buried it. :brickwall:

Showed hunger and determination to take his chance of a rare start. Too many times over the last few seasons, so called fringe players have been given a chance and looked like they couldnt be bothered. Henderson showed tremendous attitude, determaintion not forgetting ability. Should be rewarded with a start in next competitive match.

Dont send him out on loan. He's good enough to be about the first team.
It's a joke if he's sent out on loan. Loans should be for young players nowhere near the 1st team. Henderson should be in the 1st team or certainly on the fringes of it.
I disagree with this.

We should be loaning out the young players we think will make it, not the ones we dont.

Henderson has the talent to make it, he should be loaned out if he isnt going to be starting at least half of our games.

Thought it a bit strange that he seemed to have fallen out of favour with the manager after he had a really good pre-season and some good performances early in the season. Came across as a bit "cocky" early on, and this might be the reason he has been left in the youth team, to keep his feet on the ground :ponder: Can't honestly say that he has ever let us or himself down in any of his appearances. Seems to have great ability and maturity for his age and I think he should be a regular in the first team squad, but I suppose the management team should know what's best for his development, and if that means a loan out to Thistle for the rest of the season, then so be it.

We should be able to play a couple of youngsters in this league ,no need for him
go out on loan.

would still send him out on loan if hes not going to get a game every other week.

he could be starting every game for a top flight side rather than wasting away in the u20s which would only harm his progress
i always thought you sent young players out on loan who had no chance of getting into our first team sqaud , that is not the case with this young lad

Played well last night and gave a good account of himself for most of the game, he seemed to fade in the last 15-20 minutes.
He may have faded by not having played much first team football but hopefully after last night's performance he will be rotated with other sin the midfield.

If he is to play it means that RD will need to keep Kayal and Mulgrew away from the first team, give the 'hungry' youngsters a chance.
Let's hope it happens.
