Great move for Henderson and a great move for Celtic.

Delighted with this.
This is what I think as well (if this is actually happening).

He gets experience of regular top flight football at the largest club in the country, expected always to be challenging at the top of their league and where the pressure is on the win the championship.

He gets to do all this during the summer break, continuing his development as a player, not to mention building his experience, after our season ends.

No idea how long this loan spell is for. If for the full Norwegian season then he gets a spot of European experience too (although he could make himself ineligible for Celtic if we end up in Europa League). In the long run very beneficial though. Also experience of a slightly different footballing culture - not to mention a different life experience, having to adjust to life in a new country, kind of like Uni students who go on exchange trips to Europe - very important for his personal development.

He'll also be one of the best players in Norway. A win-win situation for both clubs.

I don't think we should be loaning him out at this stage of the season personally.

Great move for Henderson and Celtic.

He'll come back with a bang. Great move by Ronny. I wonder if Ronny after a player from Rosenborg as well

Surprised if we let Henderson go out on loan but not to worry folks, Charlie Mulgrew is back soon.

50/50 with this.

Positives are Henderson can play through the summer for a first XI

Negatives are we are lacking in the midfield area and imo he has already shown he's good enough to cover in many areas of our midfield.

We've got plenty of midfielders. Henderson would hardly play for us. There is no down side to this move.

Hopefully this is the start of our best youngsters going out on loan. It is vital and should be an automatic part of the development process.

Too often loans out are too late and are just a precursor to a player moving on, we should be loaning our our best youngsters at a younger age.

Look at the England squad. 5 Spurs players.

Kane - 4 loan spells
Mason - 5 loan spells
Townsend - 9 loan spells!
Walker - 3 loan spells
Rose - 4 loan spells

This is what we should be doing to ensure that when these players hit 21 they are ready to step in and be first team players.

The way we have been doing things hasn't been working. You get guys at Dundee Utd etc who hit 21 and have 100 first team starts, the same player at Celtic could have around 20. This way they get to do their growing up away from the pressure of playing for Celtic. It's a great move.

If he doesn't get crocked.... or burns out.

I think it's risky, the kid has shown he can step into the first team comfortably and i'd rather we were able to call on him if needed than a number of the other options.

The Germany under 21 team tonight that started had almost 600 more first team top level appearances than the England U21 side.

Fair enough, England beat them  but it's a hell of a stat.

We should have signed McCarthy a year before we might have and loaned him back to Hamilton for a year. That way you also help get good young players cheaper.

He's too good to be sitting on our bench.

He'll be at a good club, alongside some decent experienced pros like Pedersen, challenging for the title and playing on good pitches over the summer months.

He'll come back fitter, stronger and better.

Rosenberg are exactly the type of club we should be loaning players to. This is a much better loan move than most of our other recent deals in which we send some 21 year old to Shrewsbury Town or some such place.

Yup, those moves seemed to be a shop window rather than actually trying to develop. If he burns out after 3 months football at his age he's never going to make it.

Mucg better than sitting on the bench here. Yeah there's a slight downside of being short of cover if the worst happens but if we can't cope without Liam Henderson for 3 months we are in a really bad state.

Young players need games. As long as he is playing for Rosenburg and not just warming the bench there I'll be happy.

Like BP says, good young players should have plenty of game experience by the time they are 21/22. It's the only way they can develop.

All the best wee man, hope he gets a few starts

As a side note, is that 2 seasons in a row he's been 2 games away from a league medal? Or does the SPFL not have the 10 game requirement?

It's probably just me but I'd be a bit annoyed at that

He got his medal last year and will also this year. Celtic can appeal for extra medals.
