Said after the Hapoel away game I didn't want to see him play in Europe for us again. Good player but nowhere near good enough for us at this level. I don't expect him to be here beyond January.

He missed a bad chance. It happens to far better players than him.

He played well otherwise.

He might not have what it takes to succeed at this level over any period of time, but people saying he just runs about are doing him a disservice. He's a decent player, he does his pan in every time he plays and he never hides.

He gets an unduly rough time from our support.

People will look at this thread and see a few of us having a go. I don't like to do that to any Celtic player especially one as young who has come through the ranks & is young but the fact we offered him 4/5 year contract around 18 months ago was simply out - incorrect decision under Deilla. He does try but he is just not good enough for Celtic.

This guy will make a more than decent living from football but sure to christ not with us. BR will surely see it that now and that he has to go elsewhere to continue his career.

Might be reading between the lines but BR last night taking about him seemed a tad (rightly so) frustrated he blew the chance he blew by his comments ..."he should have scored.." etc..

I'm not having a go either, he just isn't good enough for a club that aspires to be regulars in the CL. He'll be a star at another club.

Our bench last night wasn't up to much.

The attempt was poor. Not so much that he missed it but it ended up being 6 yards wide.

He has drive and enthusiasm and as mentioned above by Govan super casino he will do well / be a star at another club, in the meantime he will fill a gap until we can bring someone better in.

Seriously, what does he add? He's not a particularly good passer, he's awful in possession and he's not got a defensive bone in his body.

He's just another generic Scottish player that's made it to a professional level by having 'energy' and 'doing a shift'.

I think he is a decent passer and has good movement.

Agree that he couldn't tackle a fish supper.

Getting on a bit
[ * * * * * * * * * * ]
Two sides to the coin on this guy - a player who isn't blessed with a lot of talent but can "do a job" for the team or someone who is the very definition of a squad player - "what he lacks in talent he makes up for in application" - as he just isn't good enough. It all depends whether you look at him in a glass half-full or half-empty way. Can't fault him for effort, but at European level that is nowhere near good enough. Would be a big player probably at decent SPL team.
Felt a bit sorry for him after he missed that chance against BMG, Sinclair or Dembele would have buried it.

Said that last night. Worse that Sinclair was free in the middle to poke it home.

He's third choice in our weakest position. Not good enough for us. He's a trier and puts in a shift, hell do well elsewhere.

I agree he's not one to go hiding and domestically he's fine as a squad player. He was way out his depth last night though and chances like his last night at Champions league level, He's got to do a hell of a lot better.
It was a piss poor attempt.

Awful finish. Otherwise, he did well when he came on.
Thought he played quite well apart from the finish too. Sloppy in possession a couple of times but brought more energy and movement than we had before he was on which helped push them back.

Decent enough players for the top end of the Championship and as an option for us. If we want to progress in the CL, however, he's not the answer.

A commons clone without the talent. If he passes to Sinclair we win the game.
That pass was never on.
If McGregor wasn't crap, yes it was on.
BMG players were stick ons to intercept pretty much everything. His option was to hit the target with as much power as possible from that angle. Then its up to the keeper and we get at least a rebound or corner.

He missed a chance that has now shaped our season. To not hit the target from 6 yards on your strong foot is effin unbelievable. He's good at SPFL level. Good engine. Runs around. Decent shot sometimes. Thats about it. Squad player for Aberdeen next season.

Sinclair and grif missed easier chances against the Huns. Sinclair hit the target at least. Dembele should have played in Sinclair and instead made a mess of a reverse pass intended for Armstrong. These things happen.
