Don't think he'll ever be a world beater but for me he's a decent back-up. He should only ever be starting in less important games or if injuries have ruled out first team starters. Hopefully once Bitton is fully fit we'll see him start ahead of McGregor.

In 3-5-2 there is room for both. He has maybe not been on his sharpest lately, but he´s also part of the fast passing game we´ve seen the last 2 matches against Motherwell and Hapoel; he can run with the ball and he also have a shot. End of last season he was one of Celtic´s better players and I think we´ll see Rodgers using him a lot this season. I don´t think we´ve seen the best of him yet.

Out of his depth tonight. Clueless. Good squad player for League but not up to the task in Europe

This.

Good squad player against Hamilton, Partick etc not even close to good enough for Champions League.

Brendan will know that.

Out of his depth again tonight.

And no I don't care that he scored a few goals 2 years ago when we getting pumped out of Europe before anyone throws that at me again.

Seemed to let runners past him, that was a criticism raised last week as it led to a goal and it happened a couple of times tonight too. The heat would be a factor however tracking back in that position is crucial to the role. When attacking he can link play with inter-passes but defensively isn't switched on enough. I'd see him as a squad player but not a first team starter at the moment.

You could probably say that about a good few of his team mates tonight, but your right he wasn't at the races tonight.

Feel sorry for guys like him. They did their bit to get the team through by being on the park whilst knowing that bringing in the wonga means more chance they will be displaced by better quality players. A bit like when teams get promoted and horse out half the team that got them up. At least he always tries and ultimately it is not his fault he isn't up to the job.

He's fine as cover at domestic level but he shouldn't be starting games in Europe. He seems to be getting picked because he might cover lots of ground but I didn't notice him cover much tonight.

We need a proper central midfielder in before the window closes.

He can't start every week if we're to have a chance of doing anything other than get scudded. Tidy enough wee player but a man down defending.

He makes himself looks busy but that is not good enough - How many actual tackles does he put in? Invariably when we lose a goal he backtracks just far enough to stand on the edge of the box and watch it.

He will be the one who drops out (and deservedly so now) when the new midfielder comes in.
