And arguments about how good he is aside - for someone who has been at Celtic since childhood to be handed the captain's armband (even for a short time) should not be greeted with anything other than a 'well done pal'.

When he broke into the team a couple of years ago I thought he'd be one of those players who fade away after a while like Paul McGowan did but he never stops trying and has definitely improved a lot and can pass a ball too. Hope he gets a fair crack of the whip with the new manager.

Agree Murph, I actually felt proud for him today. He's one of us and got to wear the armband, how good is that! The abuse he's taken has been horrific at times, he's shown he has the character to play for us though. That's something that a lot are also overlooking.

I think there is nothing better than one of our own making it, I look forward to Teirney wearing it someday as well

Absolutely. He's living the dream and fair play to the kid.

Excellent again today. His run and cut back for Lustig was superb.

really hope he gets a decent run in the side next season.

He was the best of the midfielders today. Always available for a pass, moves the ball quickly and always makes good runs to find space.

best player for us today I thought. I think he's more effective when he plays the deeper position than when he's further forward.

I've completely changed my mind on him.

He's never a wide player, but he's a good central midfielder. He always shows for the ball, which is refreshing in a team, when the going gets tough, is filled with hide and seek champions.

Big improvement from him recently.

Played his part in getting this title won.

Stuck by him even though I was ridiculed by many, he's improved hugely, of course we all would like bigger names / signings, but he has taken his chance, possibly his best game today.

He's improved but still isn't good enough. Squad player at the very best. Fans wonder why we struggle both domestically and in Europe. Players like McGregor are the answer

He's deserving of some praise for the effort he puts in, but you have got him right.

I think that's a little harsh.

Ideally he would be a squad player, but I think the reason we've struggled is because of the established players like Johansen, Bitton and Brown either downing tools and just not being good enough. McGregor is technically a better player than Johansen and Brown and, as one of his biggest critics on here previously, he's turned in some pretty good performances over the last couple of months.
